About pfodAppV2 BT,BLE,Wifi,SMS

pfod™ (Protocol For Operations Discovery)
pfodApp V2.0.213+ uses pfodParser libraries V2.35+
Note: The format of image cmds will be changing in the next release.

The latest version of pfodApp, V2 adds interactive drawings and menu and image caching as well as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support in addition to SMS,WiFi and Bluetooth V2 connections. Colour and text formatting as well as sliders and data logging and plotting, are available so you can easily capture and display those measurements on your android, and with 128 bit security so you can control you devices over the internet easily and safely.
Use the pfodDesignerV2 to design your own Android menus to control Arduino outputs like the Fish Tank screen shown here. No coding required.

Supports Ardunio 101 (Genuino 101), RFduino BLE, Itead BLE Shield (HM_10 modules), Adafruit Bluefruit BLE Friends, ESP8266, FioV3, LinkIt ONE, Adafruit CC3000, Wildfire, SIM900 GPRS, Arduino Ethernet, and WiFi and Bluetooth V2 shields, etc

Control Arduino and other microprocessor devices from your Andriod mobile via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Bluetooth V2, Wifi or SMS each with optional 128bit security (Not all mobiles support BLE)
NO Android Programming required. All screens, colours, font size and style are completely controlled by your Arduino.

Installation Guide: http://www.forward.com.au/pfod/Android_pfodApp/pfodAppForAndroidGettingStarted.pdf

Unleash the power of your Arduino or other micro project with pfodApp. Show people that you are not just playing with circuits but building useful devices, like a garage door remotes, dimmable room lighting, etc, that they can control from their Android mobile. This one pfodApp can control multiple devices each with different functions.

see http://www.pfod.com.au for examples of how to convert your existing projects to android control. Try out the pfodAppDemo first to see how the sample screens will display on your mobile.

See the YouTube at http://www.pfod.com.au/KnightRider_pfodApp/index.html for an example of how pfodApp is being used to control Knight Rider Lights with an extensive set of options that required NO Android programming at all.

Using the pfodApp on an Andriod mobile, your users can read text prompts, send navigation commands, traverse menu hierarchies, choose from single and multi-selection lists, input with sliders, and numbers and text and view data sent by your micro, in their own language. This version of pfodApp supports non-English menus and screen texts.

The contents of each screen shot here, including the language, is completely controlled by the microprocessor the app is connecting to.

The Protocol For Operation Discovery (pfod) is simple request/response protocol for use with micro-controllers. Think HTML replacement, but with a much simpler format and much shorter messages designed for ease of coding in a micro processor. The pfodApp functions as micro-browser and the pfodDevice is the micro-server.

The pfodApp does all of the Android stuff for you and remembers the menu hierarchy. You only need to code your micro to be a pfodDevice which responds to simple requests over Bluetooth, wifi/internet or SMS and sends back simple micro-pages in response. The text and user choices displayed by on the Android mobile by the pfodApp are completely controlled by what you code in your micro. No Android coding is required. The pfodApp handles it all.

The developer is a joy to work with. He offered to help me get the app working with a non supported MCU and he had an up and running program within a couple of weeks. absolutely amazing. Anyone that gives this app a bad review either doesnt know what they are doing or did not contact or listen to Mr. Ford.

Excellent product. Meets the needs of my intended projects perfectly. I had been searching for a wireless Bluetooth LE app, that would allow for more substantial interactive control of an Arduino. Also more importantly; I was looking for an app, that could download and write larger volumes of logged data to file (I tried several other apps that could not accomplish this). This app does! The pfod Designer app, which is a free download, with many features far too numerous too list, is used in conjunction with this pfodApp BT, BLE, Wifi, SMS, to professionally develop your own personal Arduino interface. I had thought that learning Android programming would be required, in order to develop an intensive enough app suitable to my needs. Not so! No Android programming is required. For anyone contemplating robotics, automation and control, or data logging projects, just to name a few, this app should be a lot of fun!

Great App , with excellent support from the developer . Easy to use and configure if you , like me, are new to using Arduino .

M70%
by M####:

Initially had BT troubles (not due to the app!) But developer supported anyway and solved within 24h (consider 10hours time difference too!) Now running w Android and Seeeduino BT frame 100%. This support joint with the genuinely smart concept is a 5 star. Containing the menus in your relevant sketch is sooo much easier once you start bulk up loads of various Arduino sketches. Best of luck to this developer!

Arduino does not let me compile and gives me a curieEEPROM missing message I've installed your library's from your site ,not sure what to do next

I used pfodApp to create a versatile multi level menu based user interface for controlling discretionary loads on an off grid power system. The developer is extremely helpful and responsive in addressing any difficulties with the use of the app.

+++++++This may be the best app I've ever bought. +++++++ I was looking for an app to control my arduino using bluetooth. I found a whole bunch of them that didn't work. They wouldn't connect, and you couldn't change the GUI to suit your needs.. pfod worked first time, now I'm having fun designing my own GUI. Developer is VERY fast to respond to questions.

Excellent App! Extremely well documented and supported, easy to use and works perfectly. Lots of flexibility, sliders make for an easy way to adjust micro controller parameters while a wide range of formatting options allow for plenty of creativity in designing an attractive interface to Arduino projects. The logic and program flow that underpins pfod makes it a delight to use. The icing on the cake is an easy to use security option so micro controller systems can be confidently exposed to the internet. A thoroughly professional app in every way.

A really great app for simple yet powerful and flexible interface to microcontrollers. Why fiddle with buttons and LCD displays when you can build a great interface on your phone? I have built several sophisticated front ends for arduino projects in a short time with straight forward code. Just about any embedded micro project can benefit from the interface that this app provides.

It used to work good now with the latest update it won't stay connected for more than 5 seconds loses connection with Bluetooth

C70%
by C####:

It crashes when exiting and then won't restart without rebooting the phone. It would also be very helpful if the examples in the specifications document were published. It's always easier to modify code than to start again...

C70%
by C####:

I used this app (amongst others) to replace my Arduino data logger using an SD card and LCD for monitorring. The logging is now done on the smartphone and gives a graphical representation of measured data.

When using ip connection to wifi device program does not auto reconnect tumeouted connection. Also ui is quite horrifying.

This app allows you to program your arduino and have your own apps interface show up on your android phone, having first used pfodDesign to design the interface. Great response from the developer if you have any questions.

Excellent customer service and support! They even helped me add an extra button on my phone for a 2nd garage door.

A really great app but the underlying protocol is the real genius behind the app. Was able to develope a relatively sophisticated interface for an arduino project in a short time with straight forward code. Just about any embedded micro project can benefit from the interface that this app provides.
