The Baker App for Android
You have to buy all recipes sight unseen. This is 2015...recipes are freely available on the internet and in other apps. Uninstall.
It's a good app but has a lot of problems... First off all it can only list ingredients in “g” & “oz” format in the save recipe section, it does not have “cups” “tbsp” “tsp” “floz” “lb” “kg” “lt” etc format's.... Plus when I clicked on the help link it took me to a site that was shut down & unavailable... It better to use a small personal diary to write down recipes than use this app, I mean WTF this is nt the way to do business...
Did NOTHING as advertised
This is the best app for the baker, I suggest that we can attached an image of the recipe.
As a professional baker it's great to have an app like this for quickly scaling my recipes down to home use. My one and only gripe is that after breaking my last phone it appears that I have to enter everything again as none of my recipes could be backed up which sadly results in 4/5 instead of the perfect 5 it deserves.
It calculates the weight/vol for each ingredient, I can modify one ingredient and the others change in proportion (great when I accidentally run out of one of the ingredients!), and I can add and modify recipes! Awesome!
Those Melbournites know how to bake
I like cheftap better
I just baked the lemon curd tart and it turned out perfect, what a great app!!
amazing app with yummy things to bake!
Happy baking
Very bad
It's better than anything else I've found. I "design" lots of my own recipes, so this works well for me to store them for grocery shopping.
Stupid to charge .99 cents for each addon. I'd pay $1.99 for 5 but not $1 each. And change your picture to say .99 cents instead of $1.99 each. You're welcome.
Best Baker app on the store!
I really like the way this app is designed. It makes it easy to adjust recipes for different sized batches. The interface is very intuitive. I only wish there were more recipes and an easier way to import my recipies. It also seems like the developer hasn't been updating the app in over a year. Update: Thanks for the recent response. I look forward to seeing your improvements. Please add other unit measurements besides grams and oz, such as tsp, tbsp, etc...
Update - sadly this seems to be a little abandoned and without any way to get recipes out I am very reluctant to go to the effort of putting mine in and risk losing them in a phone upgrade. So I have to stick to Evernote for that side of things. Still a handy workpad to convert and scale recipes but just so much untapped potential. A great app with the sort of visual and interface polish that used to be the exclusive domain of iPhone apps. I have a few suggestions based on a few days use, in my priority order: - Import/export of recipes! This would allow me to sync between my phone/tablet and would foster a community around your application. Obviously this might impact your "buy recipes" but more on that later. - Ability to group into recipe books under "my recipes" - "smart" text in the description field so that baking temps etc can be auto converted - A top level button on each recipe to move all measurements metric/imperial. Finally, I love the app and love that it is free but I am afraid I am unlikely to ever buy any of your recipe packs but would happily spend a couple of £s to support development.. maybe a "pro/donation" version to tap into people like me?
Love the UI. Very easy to move around in the menus. I wish it had gluten-free package as well. Hope the app is not abounded.
This app may calculate percentages internally but it doesn't appear to format tbe recipes that way. Disappointing, since I use a % cslcilsting scale to avoid all the nonsense with weights and measures.
No free recipes
Great idea to have a cook book app for personal recipes, not paying £3 for each recipe it's greedy exp when app has annoying adverts at the bottom, shrinking space to read... Hate that if you spell something that ain't in suggested list it stops you from picking anything other than "g" or "oz" so can't do ml.. Etc Can't count amount of items, like 1 vanilla pod or 2 eggs... Has to be done in weight, annoying as I don't know the grams of half s squeezed lemon/garlic cloves. But good concept and ui
This might be okay for purchased recipes but don't plan on entering your own. You are locked into ingredients on a list determined by the developer and will have no flexibility entering quantities. Trying to fix or work around that results in the ap freezing and or the quantities changing to useless measurements. If you want to save your own recipes look elsewhere as this has serious design flaws and a developer who thinks that's not a problem, because it is free.
I love the instant conversions built into each recipe. Doesn't hurt that the aesthetic of the app is really nice as well. I'll be getting good use out of this!
Unless you have a super-precise, digital kitchen scale this app is useless. This is for professional bakers ONLY.
Not paying all that money for the recipes. Shame because I think it is really well designed. I already have a recipe book with way more recipes for a fraction of the cost. The idea is that electronic media is cheaper!
Great Looking app, and very useful.!

Heard about this app through a friend. Wasn't that optimistic about it until I actually tried it. It does exactly what I need in the kitchen. App looks really beautiful, simple and intuitive.
A wonderful way to bake. I'm glad a tool like this is available now.
Inspired me to get back into baking!
App looks great. Feels great to use. One issue though.... If you accidentally exit the app or press back while editing a custom recipe (without saving it), then the app crashes when you try to open it again.
I don't like the idea of buying for recipes, just download chef tap and a few recipe apps and import all of your favourite recipes
Looks good.... But there are very few included recipes... and the cost of more is way, way too much.... uninstalled
Have to pay for recipes = ripoff This app looks like it is really well designed, but for me that is the only positive. You have pay $2.99 to get recipes, and then you only get about six. It only uses grams for measurement, which means you probably have to get another app to convert quantities. What a joke.
