About OpenDocument Reader

View and modify OpenDocuments on the go using OpenDocument Reader!

OpenDocument Reader allows you to read your ODF (OpenDocument Format) documents wherever you are. In the bus on your way to school? No problem! With OpenDocument Reader you can read and search through your documents in a very clean and simple way. Is there just one last typo left to fix in your document? It now supports modification of documents too! Fast, simple and well integrated.

You can start reading your documents from within other apps. Supported apps include...
- GMail
- Google Drive
- Box.net
- Dropbox
- lots of other apps

“ODF” is the format used by office suites like OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Text documents (.odt), as well as spreadsheets (.ods) and also presentations (.odp) are supported, including support for complex formatting and embedded images. Graphs are no problem either. If you want to secure your data you can even open password-protected documents.

This app is open-source. We are not affiliated with OpenOffice, LibreOffice or similar.

Very slow. It might be faster if is didn't load every OpenExcel ODS sheet on one continuous page. My 12 month OpenExcel budget is very dissatisfying to navigate with this app.

Tapped on an .ODG file (a type of ODF) in file browser, unable to open. Then tried opening this app manually and then found the ODG file through the Open dialogue, and it said "file format not supported. Would you like to upload to our server to view it?" I selected "yes", waited three minutes, and got message "unable to view image."

Hi Although this is a good app it didn't do what I needed. It was ok on single pages but was a problem on multi pages.

If you use this, get a full computer already. While you don't have one, this app provides the ability to inspect libre office or open office files from your android device.

Used to work fine. All of a sudden won't open password protected documents. Keeps acting as if password is incorrect, when it's not. Uninstalling as app is useless now.

I tried to use this to load a spreadsheet from Dropbox. This works, but takes a long time, and by default, doesn't even load the whole thing. Loading everything takes a long time as well. Then it does it again when you tap the pencil icon, which I assume is for actually editing the file. I say "assume" since I never managed to actually get that far. I could find no way to adjust columns or rows, and my conditional color settings in the original did not work either. This was uninstalled pretty quickly.

Doesn't read .doc files, if you deny wifi connection... They ask you to upload the file on their website to open... no, i did not try to allow this app internet connection ... a document reading app should not have wifi connection in order to work, or else can be catalogued as a privacy leak spam app... Uninstall

Guys, how do I set this as a default app for .odt files in KitKat ? It won't appear anywhere so I can't chose it. I already tried with "better open with", but I can't see this app listed there either.

X70%
by X####:

Opens open office/libre office documents without any problems. Even the ones that are password protected (if you know the password of course!). Haven't tried it with spreadsheets yet.

I wanted to open doc extension files and it does not. Gheezzzee..can't see PDF files....

It used to be that sometimes it opens my ODS spreadsheets and sometimes it doesn't. Now its all the time it doesn't. I'm trying to open and edit an ODS spreadsheet and every time I'm getting the error message something went wrong.

X70%
by X####:

It doesn't open files with exactly the same content as on the desktop. It shows the username and the abs date of what appears to be every change that is made.

C70%

Edits in app but won't export and cannot be saved. Works for reading docs in Jelly Bean or Marshmallow but useless for edits.

M70%
by M####:

Im reading a document, no one needs my identity or my contacts list. This app understands this/edit i took back my 5 stars because it doesn't open .doc files?? Then what does it do? Useless.

M70%
by M####:

Opens and let's me edit, since I'm an open office user. If you have formatting though, like columns, it may not allow you to put your text in the location you would like

G70%
by G####:

As a reader, it does what I want. As an editor, I loose pretty much everything I write. For instance, trying to paste something seems to exit edit mode. Hitting save also exits edit mode and only sometimes saves something. Edit: couldn't open a simple .ods.

M70%
by M####:

I can't scroll through my big password protected .ods file. It starts lagging even if I don't load 100%!! There seem to be a response time on 3-5 minutes. I simply can't find a app to replace this for free...

If you are really know microsoft excel extremely you well notice some features are missing or awkward. But for other 99.999% users you will appreciate the freedom of fences that redmond places you you in. My default app, 'nuff said.

Tried various other applications. They proved very heavy exausting the limited valuable redources of of my mobile. This is a very simple and cool application which does its job very effectively. Right now, there is absolutely nothing to complain. Thanks to the developers. I could edit my files comfortably and save.

I found it very useful to view my official documents in my mobile with the help of this app. It has made my work easiest and I can keep track of my office documents any time. One suggestion please improve the app icon brightness. Thank you for this service.

I like the app. But when a .docx file that is formatted in ms word with tabs, is opened in this app, alignments disappeared, the matter appeared in a mess.
