Outliner for Android
Terrible interface and there is no Dark theme. Adding items is tedious. Please learn something from Dynalist.
This is a really good list and note taking app. You can create your wn lists and order them in multiple different levels with colour coding and indentation to assist. The quick edit and finish tick box are very useful. I was aable to tailor create my holiday packing per bag and in subcategories. Only thing it needs is an "untick all" option, so you can easily reuse the list without having to untick everything individually. Then it would get 5*
The Gold Standard of Outline lists. Simple, elegant interface. Adjust every aspect-font size, background, button border (for fat fingers), indent distance, more. Reminders if desired. Fast sync with Google Tasks & similar. Addendum 11/17-Insists on syncing BEFORE you can see the contents of a list. If there is no wifi or cell service, wheel goes round & round and no list contents shown. Workaround: No wifi or service (or it's very slow)? Turn them off ON THE PHONE; will then show list contents in memory.
One of the key apps I use. Allows me to organize myself on any project. Easy and straight forward to use. Will never leave my home screen, especially now with the hot new icon. Update 10/13/17: New version 2.0 came out. Had a feature I didn't care about. Wrote to Freedy, he got back to me the same day, and sent me the beta fix the next day! How can you beat that?
My go to list app, on the pc etc use all sorts of mind map and tasking apps, however this one is simple but functional and lite enough to use on all my tablets phones etc. Wish there was a Windows version for my works laptop!
Generally a very good app, compatible with basic treepad hjl files, fairly simple to use, minimal layout, all which I like. However, it has one huge failing, the inability to specify a save path. I use Rosilio Sync as my personal sync for privacy and unlimited storage on my PC's, which provides a fully accessible directory on my Android devices for sharing unlike Dropbox, along with full control over which files are synced. Although I purchased the pro key, I don't see myself making use of this otherwise useful app very much if at all for this simple flaw. :-( ... Now using Halna Outliner which does allow for setting a save path so I can continue to keep all my documents centralized.and conveniently accessible.
This is the best outliner app I came across, so far. I am both a teacher and a research writer. I use the app for both my purposes. I plann my courses on this app and it helps me keep the track of what I've already instructed, what I'm delivering or what I'm going to deliver in the future. When I do any research, I employ this app for taking notes. The app helps me have all my notes in one place and organize them anyway I like. It's the best.
Thank you for a great app. I periodically try new task/note apps a few times per year because none of them feel really nice to use. After 10 yrs of android use, this one has come out and I love it! First app I want to start using daily because it's so intuitive with just the right features. Thinking pro version soon as goggle task sync would be delightful.
Great outliner with export options (I use html). Developer VERY responsive and helpful. Had an issue with import on Note 8 and it was rectified quickly. I use this to track large project tasks. The input is quick and clear (with due dates) and the ability to export an outline to html at any point during the project life cycle is invaluable. Very well done, I highly recommend. I also recommend purchase of key for functionality and to give well earned support to developer.
An excellent multilevel outliner which allows you to organize your projects with minimal fuss. Everything from a shopping list to a thesis can be organized here, and then exported to HTML if you like. The interface is straightforward, not cramped, which is how it should be on small screens. The small price for the PRO version is well worth it, in my opinion.
Not being able to put an alarm/reminder on a todo/tasks make it less usable. Although not essential, I whish I could attach files to a todo/task.
Best android outliner. Excellent export features, Google task sync is a plus, and even ability to edit files on the PC with an old Bonsai program. Two additional features would elevate the app to a stellar level: 1) copy and paste an entire outline and 2) Widget that brings up ToDo's.
I have always written many many lists trying to gain a smoothly ran lifestyle, and now that I downloaded this app, i finally have a method that truly works in a great simple fashion! I fully recommend!
Excellent app for organizing one's ideas, time, chores, EVERYTHING!
Great functionality, but looks outdated and old.
It really is a great app
Pretty good app however there is a problem with the fixed font size relationship between the activities font size and activities note font size. Medium is the best activities font size for me which makes the activities notes font way too small. There should be a font size adjustment for activities notes.
Pretty disappointed you can't even paste a list from another program. Well, you can paste a list, but it pastes it as one long item instead of multiples, so no reasonable way to migrate from Keep or other lists. EDIT: Thanks for the very quick feedback. I do understand multi-level tree import would not be practical via cut and paste, but a simple list should be doable as multiple items at the current level, or even just at top level. As it is, it severely limits the usefulness for me. One of my primary use cases is to migrate simple lists from Keep, email, or other simple apps to an outline so I can add structure and organization.
Really nice outliner. I use KeynoteNF on my PC but this is great for on the go. Import is a bit pants though unless I'm missing something. I want to import a txt file as a large chunk of info, but import keeps splitting it into separate nodes for each line of the one txt file. Great app though.
Said free - but there's a $5 key for the free? . I don't even want to know.
are the outlines made also encrypted? aside from android encryption which my phone does not have, do you any suggested apps?
Controls can become much more easier
Now that this can sync with Google Tasks in pro version it is easily the best Outliner I've found for my purposes. You can make it as simple or complex as you want. And easy to use. Wonderful app!
Syncing with Google Tasks is a great new feature in the pro version. G Tasks is a useful but little-known Google app. Try this free version, then if you are as impressed as I was, buy the "key" app to upgrade it to pro.
Simple but well done. Does what is needed, and is supported. What more could you want.
Best outliner
It seems simple, intuitive and well documented, it took me minutes to get started with this app. ▪Don't like Internet permission in a notes app. ▪Unable to check any import/export/syncing as this is all in the pro version. If I was to change from my current app, it would be so I could use 'Syncthing' to sync, and I'm not sure that's possible with Outliner as it does not have an option to store outlines on SD instead of internally.
This app easily replaced the outdated ListPro and became the end of the Ipaq genre for me. Would like to see text editing and even adding pictures but, hey, who am I to quibble when I know nothing on how hard it is to make an app! Excellent export functions makes it easy to retain my important data to sync with TreePad. I mean so far, I can't complain compared with the other options out there.
An extremely incredible app, that makes tasks like note taking a breeze. Though I primarily use this app to story map, Story mapping in other programs require subscriptions/fees in order to do rudimentary things. This works very well with arranging chapters and plots. And, the option to simply drag and rearrange notes with just a press is a huge feature for me. If anything you received 5 stars from me, because honestly arranging notes around in Excel-based programs seemed a little too messy for me. And, I honestly don't know what I'd do if I never stumbled upon this app. The font and theme is simplistic but professional and fits my needs.
I use a desktop outliner to store all kinds of information: address book, recipes, book lists, quotations, calendar, to-do lists. Now I can access all that information on my phone, thanks to the syncing feature of this Outliner app. If you use an outliner, spend the $5 and buy the pro version. It is completely worth it.
Very good app. I like the coloring option. Bought the pro version but still could not get sync to work, anyway I prefer to use the app off line.
(1) Menu item help, including creating new outlines. Some options (I forget which ones) preclude some features like moving an outline by flicking it up or right, etc. (2) Export a specific outline doesn't work but has no help, explanation or documentation. (3) Suggested improvements to both the free & paid versions that are needed if author wants to be rated at the top. Example: how to move a top-level outline to become a child of another one.
Been using since Feb 2015 and still going strong. Outliner combines ease of use and good functionality with a well presented user interface to provide an excellent hierarchical notepad. Scheduling is basic but useful. Free version has no ads but Pro version is good value for the extra features and to support the developer. HTML export is handy for tree printing as it lends itself to easy formatting using CSS, and the backup system is good for keeping your data safe. Updates continue to improve this app.

There are only TWO reasons I need a tablet, and this is one of them! I have been using and following the development of this app for some time, and I must commend the developer for a job very well done. He does not rush upgrades out to market without thorough testing, and as a result his product is very stable, functional, and compact. Too many apps today are bloated with spaghetti code that adds nothing to value but makes them slow and unwieldy; this is NOT one of them. I highly recommend this app!
Needs undo feature & more levels colours please. Also, too many manual steps in importing files into the app desktop
Good outlining functions especially for long notes. Primary weakness is that files cannot be grouped or organized, just a list sorted alphabetically which if it gets long is cumbersome.. Option is to export to Treepad and organize those files on PC...but it's just a tedious workaround... App shows promise but needs further development.. I'll hold onto it and see what develops...
So I was really liking this app, even purchased the pro version. Had my data wiped out and even though I had sync with Dropbox working, after a clean install there is no restore from Dropbox option, only an option to restore from an SD card. Not sure why restore from Dropbox is not available...
It seems simple, intuitive and well documented, it took me minutes to get started with this app. ▪Desperately needs a dark theme. ▪It's impossible to hit the 'expand' button without instead checking the activity with the 'finish' button. There is a useful setting to increase the space around buttons for exactly this reason, but unfortunately it adds space above & below button as well. To get to a point where it's possible to hit the expand button, the list is so spread out you only get a few lines on a page. ▪Unable to check any import/export/syncing as this is all in the pro version. If I was to change from my current app, it would be so I could use 'Syncthing' to sync, and I'm not sure that's possible with Outliner.

Great tool, paid and just started using it, some issues though, 1. How do I move an activity to a different outline? 2. Can you make the main page which lists all the outline better spaced, right now it looks really cramped up? 3. Can you modernise the interface a little bit? 4. There's another app, which though not as great as this, but seems to have more flexibility - Listing It android app - can you make Outliner a little more flexible? For example check out the sharing function, where entire text under a heading can be shared .. please test out that app, those functionalities will really make this app pop. Great work overall ..
