Jupiter Simulator for Android
This app is great for my lesson at school learning about mars and other planets
Get a job remove ads
NOTHING much spectacular though
I want to see live space please help me thanks
The old version was 5 stars and was one of my favorite apps due to its simplicity. The ads completely ruined this version, they are so instusive. I understand the need to cover development costs but you could have done something different than essentially downgrading the app. It's always a poor choice to take away something that you already gave for free. Instead, you could have created new features only available in the paid version. You could also pop up occasionally your own ad asking users to register with their email address so you could email market to them instead of spamming with ads in the app. Then once the registration is complete, no more ad for registration. So essentially, you get to market to them in a more effective way than pissing people off with ads. ....and your app crashed repeatedly after the upgrade and I had to clear storage from the App Manager to fix it.
Very useful but now Jupiter, moons and their orbits are squashed along the vertical on my Samsung tab s2. 3 stars until it gets sorted out. Are you looking into this issue?!
Really good app. I'd like to suggest as an improvement the ability to change the view to inverted and/or mirror reflected to match eyepiece views for all telescopes. Edit for new version: Reduced ranking as the adverts are way too intrusive in this version. But the big one is that advertising it as "Now including shadows" is at best disingenuous and frankly misleading as when you try to use them it tells you it's a Pro feature and to buy it.
Love the horizon thing, and the pause, and just the moons and how small they are
extracelecstial...Terrestrials...ALIENS
I like it because you can just open the app and know which moon you are looking at
I installed the app a while ago to show someone what I saw through a telescope and it was great. Opened it some months later and there is an obnoxious flashing white ad telling me my device's memory is full. Not only is it a scam ad, but it ruins the great experience of the app. I'm not against monetizing apps, but this severely degraded the app. I did notice an option for in-app purchase as I uninstalled, so maybe you can purchase a way to remove ads. Dev, you might want to let users know this.
I really like this to plan viewing. I would also suggest being able to invert image for telescope view. The one major issue I have is when forward or reverse with finger swipe in small increments on screen the clock doesn't update with the moon positions. I would like to be able to find a frame such as when a moon is in middle of transition or two moons eclipse each other and then see what time that is viewable.
I'd never been aware of seeing the Great Red Spot, so having this app available meant I could plan my session with that in mind. Did exactly what I wanted. Just downgraded it to 2 stars because the adverts are really intrusive. Noisy, Long, Unwanted. This is a great app, horribly spoiled by adding adverts.
Quick and easy to see what's happening at Jupiter. Would like it even more if you could freeze the viewing angle so we could zoom in without accidentally changing the angle. Love that it shows the GRS accurately as well as the moons.
Nice bit of work. However not totally useful for astronomy. The perspective is from near Jupiter and not Earth. Still good for the GRS though. And free so can't complain. Also it slips a lot. The controls are a bit fiddly on my phone.
This is a very simple clearly understood app for seeing what happens with Jupiter and it's Moons. A way of flipping the FOV to suit different telescopes and eyepieces would be a good upgrade, plus seeing the shadows of the Moons on the disc of Jupiter would be a nice add on too or you could miss seeing a shadow transit by not knowing about them. All in all one of the best
This little app is simple to use and does exactly what I wanted. It shows Jupiter and it's moons as they are and let's you run a simulation of their positions in the future. You can see when the next sighting of the great red spot as well. Jupiter is my favorite planet and this is one of my favorite apps now.
I was wondering when I could look through my telescope and see the Great Red Spot. Now I know :) And nicely presented to. I reckon a reset button would be great.
I love the app, useful to show newbies what they are looking at... I really wish to "reset perspective" button want hidden, and there was a way to lock the perspective to live, so I could zoom in and out freely without worry.
I am now able to identify the individual major moons of Jupiter with this handy app.
This app is great for my lesson at school learning about mars and other planets
It really helps me plan my photography sessions.
It's indispensable for planning an astro photo session.
Fab app
Very accurate.
Really good app. Only thing I'd like to suggest as an improvement is the ability to change the view to inverted and/or mirror reflected to match eyepiece views through all telescope configurations.
NOTHING much spectacular though
Does Jupiter basics.
Does what it says on the tin ...
Pretty simple to use and ad free
The app looks graphically great and provides useful, accurate information. Recommended
Great way to visualize the planet and the lunar orbits of the Galelian moons. A wonderful educational device!
Great fun app.
Simple and effective.
Good
NOTHING much spectacular though
I like to get the moons close and the great red spot facing my way in photos, this lets me know the best time to bring out the camera and scope.
