About Speech To Text

A simple to use app for dictating text which can be sent as an SMS or Email or copied and pasted into another app. The app uses Androids built-in Speech Recogniser to turn speech into text. The app is also capable of speaking text out using your built-in TTS Engine.

A new innovative sliding tab design makes it even easier to use the app.

You are able to send dictations to contacts from your phonebook (permission required).

This app is wonderful. Hi am taking notes in a management meetung every month. It is difficult as I have to use my hearing aids during the meatings so I can not hear everything clearly. This app assisted me a lot.

O70%
by O####:

Amazing!! I thought I could confuse the recognition by whispering into my phone while call of duty was on in the background, and even tried to confuse it with random dialects, and it STILL got every word right! Awesome app, exactly what I was looking for.

Just Hindi is not India. It is just one of many languages of India. Why can't you add voice input through great Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam that were added newly by Google, especially Telugu?

Z70%
by Z####:

It uses Google API so don't expect being able to transcribe anything more than few words or sentences (YMMV depending on your speaker quality). My wish list : 1. Add a (clipboard) PAST button in the TTS window. 2. Add a button in the STT window to read the text (or send it over to the TTS window). That would allow to first dictate text and then have the app read it (e.g. I want to catch recognition mistakes or want to learn correct language pronunciation.) 3. Add flags to language selection (well this is more nice to have) 4. Make favorite (or recent) languages appear on top of the list of languages to choose (if we use 2 or 5 or whatever number of languages but most of us would need to scroll the whole list every time changing language) 5. If you add Point #2 above, it would help if you allow the switching between STT and TTS window. For example if I have Spanish set as STT recognition and I push button to read it (or send it over to TTS) it would be nice the selected language would be shown in either of these windows. Some people may wish separate setting for language option for each of the STT and TTS window (for example if STT is in Mexican Spanish but want the TTS to be in Spanish Spanish and later I use STT with Australian English but want TTS to be UK English). Something like "preferred language pairs". It's a bit hard to explain.

It is really simple and useful. It is very well recognising the voice inspite poor pronunciations. Till now I used only once but it seems it will work beyond expectations.

Z70%
by Z####:

The UI is simple and the speech to text feature is very helpful. I like it. :) Update: After upgrading my phone to android 7 (Nougat), the app doesn't show up properly. A little part of the screen stays blank :( For this reason, I am lowering down my rating to 3.

This app is terrific I have a small phone and fat fingers. I hate one finger typing. This app is spot on even with spelling

Z70%
by Z####:

Ok, but as soon as you stop fluently talking for even a split second, then it stops and makes you annoyed because it makes you keep talking and pressing the microphone button.

A70%
by A####:

Sorry, it works really well. It was my mistake. Unable to use properly initially. I am happy now

N70%
by N####:

Easy to use, friendly and so far accurate. Just started to use it and I am really impressed with the results and quality of the app. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your accomplishments. Regards, Rodrigo

R70%

The app does not deliver as promised. It stops, seemingly at random, after just a few seconds of dictation. None of my tests worked ... I can see that if I were using it live I would become very frustrated very quickly.

R70%
by R####:

Pause for 1 second to gather your thoughts and it stops. U spend more time restarting it than it saves u.

S70%

I'm sorry but I already have a program that does exactly what your program does. I was just hoping yours would be different in that you did not need internet to use speach to text. To bad.

R70%
by R####:

I like this app but it would be better if it didn't stop when you pause speaking for a bit. But it is the best one that i have looked at. ;-)

I have this on my old Samsung phone it is great it spells correctly which the other s don't if I can get this on my laptop I will .the others I spend to much time correcting the spelling ,when your vision isn't up to scratch is a pain

X70%

I absolutely love how you can speak and capture your words to text, copy them to the clipboard, then switch over, paste it into the text to speech area, and actually save the audio file of the computer voice speaking what you just said! That can then be sent out as an email attachment. Brilliant! This app runs well on Android Smart Watches, too.

O70%
by O####:

Nice little app with NO ads.. But it would be so much useful if one could eg share audio from whatsapp to convert voice msg

Q70%
by Q####:

Such a little app.. yet to the point.. I read some reviews by others.. some not so appreciative, they are rrrronggg. Most people who seemed a lot more honest with their reviews, already said what I would have.. So, I will say one that thing most people did miss & that's.. The most useful aspect of this App... And which is..... THE TIME And DATE STAMP... √… You can be sure what you wrote & when at the very First time & Really don't have to worry the new time Info every time a written piece gets bit changed

R70%
by R####:

I got this to help me dictate my blog. It is ok. My own enunciation is more of the problem. But I love having it read back stuff I have written in foreign accents. Writing something really ridiculous and having it read back to me in a British or Italian accent is stupid entertainment.

R70%
by R####:

This is useless when it comes to recording longer messages it just stops when you pause and it doesn't work for what I wanted to use it for

A70%
by A####:

It stops recording in the middle of what I'm saying. There's no way to control that, no settings you can change, which is disappointing. I'm sure there is a better app than this for speech to text.
