GPS (NL)

Deze app is bedoeld als vervanging voor de ouderwetse GPS apparaten voor gebruik in Nederland. In Nederland gebruiken we een eigen coördinaat systeem wat aanzienlijke voordelen biedt boven het internationale systeem. Deze app toont de Nederlandse Rijksdriehoekscoördinaten (beter bekend als Amersfoortcoördinaten). Ook is het mogelijk om waypoints op te slaan als Rijksdriehoekscoördinaat / Amersfoortcoördinaat.

Daarnaast is de app uitgerust met een aantal functies die ook handig kunnen zijn in het veld. Zo kunt u het actuele weer in Nederland bekijken, maar ook de korte termijn en lange termijn verwachtingen. De weerpagina bevat de buienradar (van buienradar.nl) met een voorspelling van de komende 3 uur en een lange termijn voorspelling voor het weer de komende 5 dagen. Verder zijn de korte termijn voorspelling, een kaart van Nederland met de actuele temperaturen en een kaart van Nederland met de actuele windrichting en windkracht van het KNMI toegevoegd.

Ook handig om te weten als je het veld in gaat is hoe laat de zon opkomt en onder gaat. Bij het openen van deze functie ziet u direct hoe laat de zon vandaag op en onder gaat, maar u kunt dat ook opvragen voor elke willekeurige dag tot eind 2015.

Voor het uitvoeren van tellingen kan het handig zijn om een handteller te hebben waarop u verschillende dingen/soorten kunt tellen. Zo kunt u tijdens een telling van het aantal vleermuizen op een vliegroute, de verschillende soorten tellen zonder in de war te raken.

Deze app is vooral bedoeld als een handig hulpmiddel bij het uitvoeren van tellingen ten behoeve van de NEM (Netwerk Ecologische Monitoring) meetnetten van de Zoogdiervereniging.
