Who is Ganesha?
Ganesha, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped Gods of Hinduism. Ganesha's elephant head and potbelly make Him easy to identify. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences (especially writing), and as the Deva or God of intellect and wisdom. He is also the Lord of Beginnings and Good Fortune who provides prosperity, fortune, and success. Ganesha is believed to be the divine scribe who wrote down the Mahabharata during Vyasa's dictation.
