TalkingStick is based on an ancient practice used by the First Nation peoples of the Northwest Coast of the USA.
TalkingStick helps couples to talk in a peaceful way about topics relating to their relationship. Whoever holds the talking stick is entitled to speak, whilst the other listens without interrupting. When the bell rings both remain silent for a while, after which the talking stick is free to be used again.
