The Test Meow retro app was developed to allow users to easily determine if their cats respond to music composed specifically for cats.
The music was created by David Teie and is based on the research conducted by David and Dr. Charles Snowdon. The results of their research show that cats respond to the frequencies and tones that are used in their own communication.
The music samples in this app are based on the timing and rhythm of purrs, suckling, and in the case of Spook's Ditty, are meant as "sonic catnip." If your cat is intrigued she will appear to move toward the source of the music, purr, and/or rub against your mobile device.

A sample of tracks from Composer David Teie's Album Music For Cats Volume 1, and I am enchanted. I noticed that my cats became very calm and snuggley when I played this for them. I have to admit that I've been playing the samples mostly for me after discovering how much I loved them. If you love cats, you will probably love "Cozmo's Air" & "Rusty's Ballad" as much as I did. <3
