Don't you just HATE how when you find a great pattern and want to start a new project, the first thing you have to do is open all your yarn stash bins and pull everything out to see if you have an appropriate yarn on hand? Wouldn't it be great if you could store photos of all your yarns and all their important details (e.g., dye lot, style, weight, quantity per skein, number of skeins on hand, etc.) plus notes of your own about each yarn in a database instead?
YARNVENTORY IS THE ANSWER! In addition to letting you store and edit yarn photos and details, on devices with an external SD card Yarnventory lets you back up, export, and re-import your Yarnventory database. This is useful for transfer to a spreadsheet, or for backup and restore of data if your device is lost or replaced --- just install a fresh copy of Yarnventory and import your existing data!

NOTE: Yarnventory does not actually use network or wifi permissions. Like all Digital Media Mom apps, Yarnventory requires no internet access. You can prove this for yourself by running the app totally offline.

I've been looking for an app to help me keep track of my yarn. Found this and thought it was a great idea. Started entering my yarn in the database and noticed the picture wouldn't appear. Had to take the picture a few times before it would stay, but I was fine with that. I started entering my yarn last night and created about 12 entries. When I got up this morning to continue, I only had 7 entries. Started re-entering the skeins and got up to 20. Went back and checked, it only saved 8. Refund pleas

Yarn inventory app does everything that I was looking for. If there is a change....it would be nice to be able to "swipe" when looking through the inventory instead of having to press the next button my phone.

A few suggestions to make this useful app even better: include more details of the yarn, to help with substitution, eg yardage, needle size, tension/gauge; select a photo rather than having to take a photo each time; force capitalisation in the text fields - I'm old-fashioned and prefer to see manufacturers' names with a capital letter. Since it doesn't have the ability to store yarn data, I won't be using the app. A pity.
