Course d'Orientation RK

En course d'orientation, pour apprécier la performance d'un orienteur, on utilise la réduction kilométrique (RK). Il s'agit du temps mis pour parcourir un kilomètre.

Le calcul de la RK prend en compte le dénivelé du parcours.

Plus la valeur de RK est faible, mieux le coureur s'est orienté.

L'objectif est de faire baisser cette RK, notamment en jouant sur les temps de lecture de carte, de lecture de l'environnement et de choix d'itinéraire.

Un code couleur permet à l'orienteur de connaître son niveau sur le parcours réalisé en fonction de la difficulté du terrain.

Indicateur supplémentaire : la différence entre la RK réalisée lors d'un circuit et la RK dite "footing". Plus l'orienteur est proche de sa RK "footing", plus il est efficace dans sa lecture de carte et ses choix d'itinéraire.
