About School Improvement App
Through the use of a smartphone, both students and teachers are easily motivated to make improvements to their school. One can simply select, from a list of options, what area needs to be reported, repaired or improved upon. Such items may consist of broken equipment, litter or even bullying. The individual can then select, from a list of options, if the area of concern still needs attention, is in the process of being worked on, or if the situation has been resolved. Anyone who follows through will receive positive praise and also receive points. The school administration may determine what reward, if any, may be given for those actively working toward school improvement.
By enabling individuals to make positive change through the use of an app, not only will this utilize the tools most accessible in today's environment but it also specifically reaches out to the school aged demographic. Students and teachers alike will be able to have active involvement in creating a positive environment for their school. in addition, individuals may remain anonymous, thus allowing one to make reports in a non-public manner if desired. In addition, teachers may use this app to formulate a group task in which an entire class works together to garner as many points as possible, thus creating a cooperative learning environment. individual students or teachers may also use the app as a form of a contest between friends, classes or genders in an effort to promote school spirit and a positive social environment.
The end result, with the use of this app, is "positive" change. People become empowered to have a say, through active reporting and follow-up, of how they want their ideal school environment to be. It is the goal of this app to provide students, teachers, administrators and other school staff, a means with which to make their school environment into the safe, clean, and supportive place they wish it to be. This is one app I'm sure parents will be glad their child downloaded.
