Brainscan is a fast and fun way to evaluate some of the most important cognitive functions such as ATTENTION [selectivIty and attentional maintenance], COGNITIVE FOCUSING, MOTOR EYE-HAND COORDINATION, ACCURACY, SPEED REACTION AND GESTURE’S RAPIDITY, SPAN and WORKING MEMORY.

For general use, BrainSCAN is little more than a game with which to compete with yourself or friends, trying to climb the ranks of the TOP 10 BRAINSCORES.

The system stores the best score on the server for each user and displays the top 10. This will make it possible, by training, to improve personal record and compare it with other TOP players.

Brainscan is structured in 4 modules and acquires the scores for SINGLE and AVERAGE REACTION TIMES, SINGLE and AVERAGE MOTOR TIMES, COMPLETATIONE TIME AND ERRORS NUMBER IN MAZE TEST BY USING THE GRAVITY SENSOR PHONE, SPAN AND WORKING MEMORY.

Each module has been implemented with a system of random stimulus generation, for example the space coordinates, intervals between stimuli, numeric sequences, etc.. so as to provide to the various tests the maximum repeatability over time, supported by a constantly new challenge.

In the end, if the test is validated, an algorithm calculates a BRAINSCORE that will be stored.
The system also classify this score in one of the 7 COGNITIVE PROFILES describing the salient features.

BrainSCAN not be considered as a diagnostic tool but it can be a great aid in expert hands to get quickly, repeatable and everywhere, basic indications of the cognitive’s state functions. This aspect assumes significance ONLY IF THERE IS USE / SUPERVISION BY A PHYSICIAN [neurologist, psychiatrist, geriatrician, general medicine doctor] OR OF A PSYCHOLOGIST /NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST.

The GREEN labels indicates normal values, YELLOW labels lower limits of normal [or slightly below] values. The RED taggings indicates performances well below average values.

Consider that differences were found [minimum] in tests, depending on the used phone. Therefore it is recommended that, where demand was highest comparability of data, adoption of a single terminal. In addition, always in reference to use in a professional environment, to optimize data’s reliability/comparability, you must ensure that THERE IS NOT HELP DURING TESTS [eg use of instruments for recording, writing, etc..] in a room as POSSIBLE QUIET AND WITHOUT INTERFERENCE. It 'should be preceded by a training’s phase in which the user CLEARLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IS THE REQUEST.

In the calibration tests was found in a uniform comparability between 14-65 years old, except for a slight decrease in the values of STEP 1 [REACTION TIMES, EXECUTION TIMES]. There were no differences related to sex. Was considered a minimum of 8 years of schooling

CHILDREN however is very fun to try the first 2 modules and often give the powder to adults!
