Understanding car costs in Singapore can be horribly complicated. You compare two different types of cars with the same list price, but the OMV, COE, and insurance costs are worlds apart. The tax rebate system is impossibly complex. Which car is actually more expensive to own for X number of years, until you sell or scrap it?

Car-culator cuts through all the complications of the Singapore tax structure on cars to give you one simple number: the annual cost of the car. This allows you to compare the true cost of cars with confidence, taking into account both the upfront cost as well as the minimum PARF at the end of ownership.

The calculations are based on the LTA Tax Structure, updated in Feb 2013. It has been tested against sample information on the LTA website and various second hand car dealers. If you think you have found an error, please notify me so I can look into it. (There have been no errors reported up till Oct 2013 and counting...)

At the moment, it only works for normal petrol cars with normal COEs.
