About One Percent Fitness (Beta)
This is my first app design, and it's still being developed, so go easy on me. :)
One Percent Fitness is a very simple fitness tracker designed to help you gain 1% improvement with every workout.
Let's say today you're incredibly out of shape. Today, maybe you can only do 10 push-ups. That's fine. Tomorrow, with this app, you'll aim to do 1% more than that. That calculates to be 10.1 push-ups. Then the next day 10.201 push-ups. Then 10.30301...
Now of course, nobody tracks their workouts with decimal notation. The decimals are necessary for the math to work out right, but all you have to do mentally is simply round the "New Goal" number up or down accordingly. Do that, aim for your new goals as the tracker advances you, and log your achievements as you go.
Back to the example... eventually you would be doing 11 push-ups, rounded of course. Then 12. It might feel like you're doing the same amounts for several days, but eventually you'll be increasing by bigger numbers each day as time progresses. With this plan, 1% more each time, little by little each day, every day... you would be doing upward of a hundred push-ups by the eighth month! Just like a savings calculator, that's the power of compounding interest at 1%.
This app is flexible enough to track any activity, though. Tailor it for running, cycling, lifting, wood chopping, blog writing, or whatever activity you would like to improve upon over the course of many, tiny steps. You can customize the buttons and units under "Setup."
Current Features:
• Track up to 6 activities or areas of improvement, each with a customizable button.
• Pre-set units include count, time, distance, or weight to choose from.
• Aim to do one percent more, or one percent less, depending on your goals.
• Each activity offers a quick chart to visualize how much you are improving.
• Activate a countdown timer for any activity that logs units of time, up to 2 hours and 59 minutes.
Also, this app is a work in progress... so feel free to provide input or feature requests if you would like. There is no perfect app to suit all needs, but if you have an idea on how I might improve it better, then don't hesitate to reach out to me!
Lastly, I vow to keep this app simple in form and function, ad-free, without any breach of your personal data. Any information you enter will remain solely on your device. (Sorry, but at this time there is no way to back up your data just yet. I'm working on it!)
