About BMI / WHR
Body Mass Index (BMI): It's a simple indicator of the nutritional status and is calculated by the formula: weight (kg)/ height (m)².
* The BMI does not differ muscle from body fat, therefore you must check other additional review, such as body composition.
Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR): It's the most common indicator to identify the fat distribution. The WHR, when higher than 0.90 for men and 0.85 for women, is associated to a higher risk of comorbidity.
To calculate the WHR, divide your waist circumference by your hip circumference.
* It's imporant to remember that a isolated evaluation can not diagnose your health. Additional methods and indicators should be used, and a specialist should be seen as well.
