الجامع لسيرة شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية خلال سبعة قرون : هذا الكتاب في جمع كل ما يتعلق بترجمة شيخ الإسلام في المصادر القديمة، من القرن الثامن إلى نهاية القرن الثالث عشر، سواء أكانت ترجمة ضمن كتاب، أو رسالة في مدح الشيخ والثناء عليه والوصاية به والتشوق إلى لقائه، أو مذكرات عن حياته، أو فهرساً لمؤلفاته.
ولم يدخل الجامعان في هذا الجامع التراجم المفردة، لأنها تعد قائمة بنفسها كالعقود الدرية لابن عبدالهادي - وهو أوسعها - والكواكب الدرية لمرعي الكرمي وغيرهما، وقد أشارا إلى كل ما وقفا عليه من مصادر ترجمة شيخ الإسلام سواء أكان مخطوطاً أو مطبوعاً أو مفقوداً على سبيل الإحصاء، وهي على ثلاثة أقسام:
الأول: التراجم المفردة.
الثاني: التقاريظ والرسائل المفردة عن بعض أحواله ومؤلفاته.
الثالث: سيرته وأخباره في كتب التواريخ والسير ونحوها.
وبعد عرضها أشارا إلى نوعين من الكتب والدراسات، كما أشار الشيخ بكر أبو زيد - في مقدمته لهذا الجامع - إلى المصادر التي تستفاد منها سيرة الإمام شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية - رحمه الله تعالى - وهي خمسة.
وقد ألحق الباحثان بالكتاب ثلاثة فهارس:
أ- فهرس موضوعي تفصيلي دقيق، مقسم بعناية إلى فقرات، منذ ولادة شيخ الإسلام وحتى وفاته، ويذكر تحت كل فقرة منها أماكن وجودها وتكررها في جميع كتب هذا الجامع.
ب- فهرس لكتب شيخ الإسلام الواردة في نصوص هذا " الجامع " مرتباً على حروف الهجاء.
ج- فهرس الكتب المضمنة هذا " الجامع ".
وأثبت الجامعان ما أورداه من نصوص بتمامها دون حذف أو اختصار أو تصرف، وأشارا في الحاشية إلى مصدر الترجمة سواء المطبوع أو المخطوط، مع ذكر مكان الطبع وتاريخه ورقم المخطوط ومكان وجوده. The first single translations.
Second: Altaqariz single letters and some of the conditions of his works.
Third: his books and news in the dates and walk and the like.
After the presentation referred to the two types of books and studies, as pointed out Sheikh Bakr Abu Zaid - in his introduction to this mosque - to the sources learned from them the biography of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah Imam - Allah have mercy on him - a five.
The researchers attached to the book three indexes:
A detailed objective precise index, carefully divided into paragraphs, since the birth of Shaykh al-Islam until his death, and mentioned under each paragraph including places of existence and repeated in all the books of this mosque.
(B) an index of the books of Shaykh al-Islam contained in the texts of this "mosque" in the order of the letters of the alphabet.
(C) an index of books included this "omnibus".
Proved to Gaamaan what Oordah texts or without deleting the entirety shortcut, or disposal, and noted in the footnote to translation source, whether printed or manuscript, stating the place, date and printing manuscript number and whereabouts.
