I was looking for an app so that I could use an old Android tablet as a digital photo frame. This app includes many features I could not find in other photo frame apps, including sourcing photos from network shares (Samba). There are also many other sources available. It also provides good control over slideshow settings, which seems is lacking in some other comparable apps. The text within the app can be a little confusing at times, apparently due to translation, but it is tolerable and once setup should not have to change much. Highly recommend if you are looking for a way to display photos.
I use this app to run photo slideshows in old tablets which are used as photo frames. I stream the photos from my NAS. There is no other app like it, and I love that it can shuffle and include subfolders and can draw from large quantities of photos (literally thousands). There is no other app I've ever found that can do all of these things, and I've tried MANY other ones. It also has auto start and timing and multiple useful features (background music and other features which I don't currently use). 2 suggestions to the developer: 1) PLEASE consider an option to zoom in on the photo to fit the screen of the device (and crop the edges if necessary) 2) might consider other transitions between photos. Thanks!
The best digital frame app I found, even better than the pay one. The only thing I would add is display folder name. Also a nice feature would be to start-up with motion, capt from our camera.
I have installed the app on my android tv and good that it installed correctly. Now the problem is I am not able to select image folder. Every time i try to select, it get back to the setting screen. Can you please look at this issue?
The UI may be not be the nicest and is filled with Engrish but it is the best photo frame app I have used by far. Also the forced rate/share is annoying and links to another app instead of this one.
Having read other comments I downloaded and installed. Excellent and does everything I need. The only thing I would like is some longer display times. Say, 2, 5, 10 hours. Thanks.
I've been looking for a slide show player that will automatically play a slide show from my google photos. I tried everything they all play the slide show but they wont udate. that is i want to be abe to add photos to my google account then automatically have them begin to show on another device in a slide show. this is the only app that does this. it will also remove a phot if you delete from your google photos. Well done !
This is exactly what I was looking for to run on my Media Center Tablet remote while it's docked or charging.. Pretty bad name for the app tho, and the English translations need work, but easy to overlook with everything this app does and for the price! Highly recommended app. 4.5 stars.
Why are there so many slideshow viewers so terrible? Many thanks to the developer for actually thinking through what peoples requirements might be. Well done!
I'm only using it to display photos from Google Drive, but it's working great. This made an old useless tablet a great digital photo frame!
This is a good app, been using it for a while. It can access my photos on my home server SMB share and show them randomly which is great, although it takes a few mins to load the 1st image. However it freezes and locks up the whole tablet every few days, requiring a power cycle. At other times it will display "Refresh Information" 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes less often like every 2 or 3 days, and will stop showing any more images, leaving the last image on the screen. Not 100% full screen, bar at bottom.
Author put most of the features in that i want. Using this on a google TV box almost exclusively as a photo frame. Several pesky bugs, mainly it will not see the SD card. when I choose SD card it shows the internal memory. So i formatted the SD card as internal memory and that gave me room enough to to store my pictures. A little unhandy to add pictures because I have put them on a USB drive and then copy and paste to the internal memory. I wish I could tell the program to use the USB drive as the source for photos, but I guess this is made mostly for phones and tablets, but I think there will be a growing market for the Android TV boxes in the near future. $35 for an android TV box and you can use an old monitor and have a cheap 23" photo frame!
There may be a few minor bugs but overall this app appears to work pretty well!
It works pretty well, BUT the Google+(Picasa) "Keyword Photos" feature does not work, I entered various names to search and it always return NO results, although I KNOW that there are photos with those tagged names. When displaying a digital clock we also get a "Display" header and a switch to disable the clock ... it shouldn't show the Header nor the switch. Regards EDIT: I was checking the picasaweb api and on your "keyword Photos" links you are using "data/feed/api/all?q=foo" and it should be "data/feed/api/user/USERID?kind=photo&tag=foo" Hope it helps to get it working because it is not possible to edit the links on the app.
Any chance of this getting fixed or has this app been abandoned?
To developer: Option to pre-fetch the next photo would be nice for slow networks
All the folders that have photos in them show up blank. Gdrive or local.
Has a pop up until you leave a review
Won't stop bugging me to rate it, so I am
So far so good. Struggling to locate for whether.
Any choice of path for photos sets the BGM path instead. Cannot set photos path at all.
Can access photos from a large range of sources, great options for displaying photos, and no ads.
It will take some time to set it up, great work with app profile ..
... and underhand tactics to get reviews. Also I installed it on another device and it wants me to rate it again, except I can't because I have already done it. And when you tap the button to rate you are taken to another version. So now I am probably going to have the intrusive message to rate the app on the second device forever. Not good. Also the app stops... Removing some stars as getting frustrated.
i've been using it for 30 minutes without issue. thank you for the app!
Just downloaded it, but it works with OneDrive so it's a great start!
Using this app to steam pictures from NAS for daydream screen saver on TV.
I tried several slideshow apps looking for nice slideshow features, Google Drive support, and Chromecast support. This app almost does it all, however the Chromecast support is buggy (connects, but doesn't project). Please fix!
Clunky interface but works well!
Won't work on my Galaxy S5
Weather option gives some error so can't display. Calendar with month and date works but not the event and appointment from google
Finally a slide show that works for Android with the Google Photos/Picasa. Allows to display your _recent_ albums, which is a wonderful feature. Good job Aokitaka. Thank you for the app.
Finally I can find a use for old tablets ! Very intuitive versatile program !
It can show a slide show well enough. I also like that you can set it so that it starts the slideshow when you open the app - that's great for using it as a photo frame. I didn't like that it will stop at a random time and force you to rate the software.
So far, so good. Does what I want it too...
just what i needed, forget Dayframe this one rocks
Show Googledrive images as the daydream on my HP slate, just what I wanted
Finally! I'm able to show off my thousands of pictures stored in my Google Drive. Once adjusted it really moves nicely. Panning and zooming. I have tried others and they do not do exactly what I want as this product does. I'm happy that I found it. You will be too.
Most importantly for me is the ability to stream photos from shared network folder.

Best photo frame app ever, no kidding! I just dont understand why this isnt showed as 1st item on my searches...took a while to find this app. I was searching for this specifics features (photo frame cloud based) but this app exceeds my expctations with ability to set a background music, calendar display, Gcal events, clock, etc. Idk if it is too much to ask but maybe a integration with spotify would be nice =)
