About Man Down App
Developed by professional firefighters, the ManDown App is a personal safety app that can save lives.**
The ManDown App sends immediate alerts in case of an emergency or injury. Enter the contact information for your family, friends and colleagues – if you have an emergency, they’ll get notified via text, phone or e-mail.
Once the Mandown app is activated, it continuously monitors the phone’s movement. The default setting is that if the phone is motionless for 30 seconds, then a pre-Alarm warning will start. If the phone is not moved within another 30 seconds, then the Full Alarm mode is activated. In the Full Alarm mode the phone sends out a local, audible alarm. The phone will also send out a text, email and phone call to selected recipients. This message will also contain the gps location of the person in distress.
The motionless timer can be set, in hourly increments, for up to 24 hours. This feature enables the ManDown app to be used as a Safety Net device. Possible uses for this unique feature are:
• Lone worker. Say a worker is operating alone for two hours. The worker sets the timer for two hours and places the phone. If the worker fails to move the phone in two hours, then the Alarm will sound and the alerts will be sent. This feature can be set for any period of a shift that a worker might be alone, such as a night watchman
• Elderly. For an elderly person living alone, the Mandown app turns their phone into a Check-in device. Just set the timer for a once or twice per day movement. If the user has an accident and can’t move or is unconscious, then the alarm will automatically activate.
• Students, Children. The ManDown app is an excellent way for parents to have their children ‘Check-in’ without feeling compelled to make a phone call. All they have to do is move their phone.
• Nanny’s, baby-sitters. Set the Mandown app to make sure that if something happens to your Nanny or Baby-sitter, you will be notified.

This app still has major battery drain problems but is also potentially dangerous. The app works without WiFi being active but this needs to be first turned on until the app is active. Unfortunately the app will then intermittently spontaneously turn itself to the non active state saying that there is no WiFi connection with no indication that this has occurred. There is no indication either on the Android top icon bar or the pull down Android notification screen whether or not the app is active. The app should not be in the Google Play store until its dependence on a WiFi or GPS connection is removed. In its present form it gives false assurances of being a safety monitor.

On my Droid Turbo the app does exactly what it is supposed to do with good battery life. My wife and kids hate it when I go to the woods alone. Chainsaw, tractor/hills, putting up treestands,... No false alerts and stays active in background whole day. Telling all my friends and family about it!

I loaded and set up. It 0 out before count down finished. Never did get a test alert to send. Was so hoping this worked as I live alone and am in bad health.

Excellent concept. I put this on my elderly dad's phone who lives alone and if his phone doesn't move it sends me an alert. Couple of issues : if I call him or he uses the phone, the app turns off and he forgets to reset it (please have an option to load automatically and constantly have it run in the background unless it's manually turned off.) this is vital for elderly folks who don't understand their phone. 2: needs an option to change the outgoing message.

Works for me with screen on or off and with other apps running. But it stops screen time out working so you have to force the screen off once Man Down is active. Limited timing settings and alarm message is fixed. Get your act together developer, there is a huge market for this and no alternative...

I tried to but extra Voice alert credits but I keep getting a message saying that a Billing error ocurred, the Google billing system no longer works, and I should check the Google Play Store for an update to the app. But when I check the Play Store, I do not see any link for updates. So, the app is now useless to me. Also, & incredibly, the no-motion "timer/sensor" does NOT work unless the phone is turned on! This is an unbelievable flaw. This could have been one of the greatest & most profitable apps ever.

I couldn't even get it to accept phone numbers. I live on acreage, most times alone, at age 62 I think twice now about cleaning my rain gutters. As the first review said, great concept, major demand i would think , so fix it!

Idea is great, could do with some massive improvements.i'm not ready to allow my life to depend on it.the motion sensor seems not to work when the screen is off, and it won't work i'm the back ground when using programs.can't wait for the updated version (please)

I fit as a lone worker and company found this app, it works perfect ! now I would not be left injured possibly to death. one thing you should know before buying it is, as another reviewer wrote, the battery usage is very demanding, however it is not an issue to me cuz mine got 4,000mah.
