Great idea! The app looks good but rarely works the way its supposed to! Water level and temperature never works unless I restart my phone anytime I want to use it. Defeats the purpose!! Most of the time if I want to boil my kettle I have to join the kettle2.0 network in the app and boil it that way! Basically I have an expensive kettle! App is useless!

This product is awful. It plain and simply does not work. As a programmer myself I have struggled to set this device up and it simply throws errors or refuses to accept that it is connected to the smarter coffee device. A complete waste of money. Alas, if you're looking at this you, much like myself, are already stuck with owning one. This doesn't work at all on Android 7.1+ and they clearly have no intention of fixing it.

It's a real shame that this app doesn't live up to what the side of the box states it should. I have BT infinity and never have problems with devices dropping out, however this app does. It welcomed me home and asked me if I wanted a coffee 3hrs later. Not good, the wake up works OK, but the machine does keep coming up with 'loading' and 'connecting'. If the developer can sort these teething issues out it would be a fantastic app.

Four replacement kettle's including upgrade to iKettle 2. App is equally bad quality. I'd be better off using a saucepan with the amount of time wasted on this product.

Recent updates fixed Android connection issues. It's still pretty weak. Open The source up to better developers! And get IFTT support going so the product is not just a buggy gimmick.

Great Idea, awful implementation. In over a year i have rarely had the Coffee Machine remain attached to the network for longer than a day. I would point out none of my Nest Thermostats, neither of my Neato Connected or any of my other smart home tech has a problem with my wireless. The only answer i got from support was update firmware, app and restart. We are making improvements. The coffee is weak, i mean really weak. I always have to pre-fill the filter with ground coffee before using it, despite having set it to strong.

Edit. App is now completely unusable and the biggest waste of time ever. Doesn't even deserve one star. Company doesn't seem to listen to the customers at all going by how there has not been an update since October. Disgrace.

Now that app is working again on my Nexus 6p I am now once again able to wake up to smell of freshly brewed coffee. Good times.

WiFi disconnections to ikettle are constant especially if your phone changes WiFi. In most cases will need to reset the ikettle which becomes frustrating and irritating! If they fix this issue then the actual purchase would have been worth it!

Constantly looses wi-fi. So have to reset the machine, uninstall the app and start again....Everyone!

Difficult to set up, good in theory but horribly inconsistent and unreliable. Ruins the whole experience

The connection drops constantly. It's more trouble than it's worth to keep reinstalling. Absolute rubbish

Crap. Just updated phone now i cant connect to coffee machine. Tried reinstalling still not working!!!

When it works it's very cool, unfortunately if and when it doesn't (which is quite regularly) it's basically a very expensive normal kettle...

Rubbish doesn't work trips out electrics and doesn't connect.

Only worked once on wake up mode. It does take commands over wi-fi though.

Worst Ap for the worst and most expensive device ever. If you're thinking of getting the appliance, don't. If you already have been screwed with the appliance, don't bother downloading the app. It is beyond crap.

nice firmware update I like the way u set up an update hot spot to connect be gud if ya can get round the data WiFi issue but very good I like 5 star

Anyone that's having to connect to the kettles WiFi please don't panic. I had this issue and after speaking to customer services my kettle is working without having to switch networks. Reset kettle. Hold button for 10 sec till you here 3 beeps (not 2). Uninstall app and reinstall then follow instructions. Should work like normal again. Hope this helps.

You can only control the kettle's detailed settings e.g. temperature and auto boil times from the app, so when that doesn't work you just have an expensive kettle with a big standard on/off switch. The app keeps disconnecting from the kettle especially after the update, and we haven't been able to wake up to a boiled kettle or boil it from outside the house (the main reasons for getting this kettle) after having it for a week. Please sort out the app, it's spoiling what should be an amazing kettle.

You have to register new account for everyone in the house that mean new email address every person joke then it's word your location why??? So they can sale your data

You need to run setup each time you use the app?! Wtf??? You guys think this is the way to start the morning? I am returning your product!!!

Most functions don't work. Every time you use the app you have to set up the connection and recalibrate which takes longer than just getting up and putting it on. Scheduling doesn't work... don't waste your money on this s**t-show.

I've anyways thought this would be a good idea, but after the first week bought it the app has not once boiled the kettle. Multiple resets, flawless WiFi signal yet it just forgets to do it's job. I use the button now (even that's hot or miss). The user interface for this app is atrocious, needs some real attention. The features all seem to work now but the set up was far from intuitive. IFTT support desperately needed.

Firstly what I will say,is that had the previous version 1.0 of this kettle for about a year and it died on me. Quick email to customer service and send them a picture of the receipt and a video of the problem. A week later and I receive a shiny new version 2.0! I've never experienced any major issues with this kettle. Setting up was never a problem for me, on either version(need to remember to select the ikettle network in phone settings). The app is ok. All the settings seem to work.

Simple plug and play. Has worked perfectly. Running with Samsung s6. My husband also has the coffee machine and this app running off iPhone - no issues for him either. Love it!

I'm on android and I didn't know you can't use the home setting on this only ios. Love it but we should have the same as ios, no?

This is a terrible app. Every time I try to use it it has become unpaired from the kettle. The water level checker is completely unreliable despite endless calibration.

I'm using Android but my wife has an iPhone. I cannot calibrate the water level, just continuously spins trying to figure it out - but we knew this when buying. Both of us are randomly signed out of the app and have to create a new network each time we want to connect again. Cannot update the firmware as no new network is created - I was hoping that a firmware update would solve some of the issues. Neat App/kettle for the 10 minutes it works but so sick of the issues that I wish I'd bought a normal kettle.

Has never worked on Android for me. The set-up of the kettle was a nightmare but eventually got it working on iPhone. If you're Android, don't even try... just send it back. Even if they fixed it now, too late - every time I look at my kettle I feel conned.
