About Tint meter

Tint meter is a tool that measures the transparency level of any transparent or semi-transparent object. It is mostly useful when a car window tint darkness level is to be obtained. You can also compare the lightness value in a room to the one outside. Besides, many other cases may come across when a requirement to measure the difference in lightness level in two different places or situations arises.
Instructions (exampled on measuring a car door window tint darkness level):
• Press the FIX VALUE button. You have 3 seconds to bring the device closer to a window before the screen goes black and the app starts to record the data received from the light sensor. As soon as recording is completed the screen of the device comes back with a signal.
• In order to measure the second value, all the aforementioned steps should be undertaken in the same sequence – except that the window is pulled down this time. The accurateness of the measurement highly depends on keeping the device in the same position compared to step 1.
Tint meter has been successfully tested on different Android-powered devices . The only requirement for its use is the availability of a light sensor. So go ahead to measure the light transparency level with the help of this device for free. And follow us for other apps. Many other useful tools are expected to arrive.

Would love to try as soon as I can roll my windows down. I do have a question. The directions tell you to measure the tint first then roll the window down. The pictures are opposite, measuring the window down and then measuring the tint. Which is first? Does it matter?

I am on a galaxy s3 abd when I go to get a baseline reading the screen goes completely black. It was working wheb I first downloaded but now I can't get it to work at all. I have cleared the app data/cache, reinstalled the app, and rebooted the phone with no success.

Ads are intrusuve. Can't exit the app without having an ad pop up. I also cannot figure out how to read the values. I should have 15% transmittance but it reads between 100 and 85. Not a good app design at all. It also looks like a child designed it. Not a clean interface. Uninstalled because of these things. Don't bother with this app!

The light sensor on android phones is right next to the front speaker. On my phone, a galaxy s5, it's two small circular sensors between the front speaker and the camera. It works well as long as you know that and use the sensor with that in mind.

I just want to ask how do you use it? Do you point the rear camera to the tinted window?

G70%

Worthless. Says my device doesn't have a light sensor.

I just got 35% tint done on my front windows and it keeps reading it at 98% in broad daylight. Thumbs down.

Come on guys, how difficult is it to put labels/buttons/instructions for this application in English?! There's a million and one different ways to translate if it's not your native language. Even if its just an image we can look at as a guide to figure it out. You'd have a lot more users that way too. Thanks
