The R&A Rules of Golf

I use the rule book in Swedish as a referee in golf and when teaching new golfers. Really happy that Swedish was included as a language option in the app. But actually, language is automatically set to the language of the phone when it ought to be a selectable option inside the app. Fix this and it'll be ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Så när man har engelska inställt i operativet i företagstelefonen så blir appen alltså automatiskt på engelska? Så nu måste jag använda Google translate för golftekniska termer på engelska samtidigt som jag under spel på banan ska läsa en regel! Hur länge får man leta efter rätt regel innan man måste släppa igenom bakomvarande boll? Ni har inte tänkt på att det kanske borde finnas en inställning för svenska i appen?

Ridiculous that you are not able to set language yourself.

Easy to use, and quick to find a ruling.

Can't swipe through a set of related rules eg "Ball at rest moved" - instead we have to go back in the menu to get to the next part of the rule. This app is even more pedantic than the rules of golf itself. For ease we should be able to swipe through them. You'd think. Especially for all the parts of the same rule! It's easier than flicking through the pages of the rulebook, but having to go back and forward is not! Apps are supposed to make things simple.

Updating this app makes the English rules book dissappear to be replaced with the German version I do not need atm. Update: had to change the language of the phone from German to English. Really R&A you can't be serious?

Can not move app to SD card storage. I do not like apps that use my device storage. It is so easy to implement!

Not nearly as functional as the USGA Rules of Golf which also includes Decisions.

No option to move to SD card storage, this is just lazy programming.

Significantly improved for 2016. It has proved very useful, but it is so badly designed. Rules all on device.

Would like to have decisions added to this app.

Back button works now in latest version. Love the definitions window. Decisions aren't included. Good app otherwise.

Definitely an improvement on the 2015 version, with much clearer text font ... essential for small screens like mine. It could be improved further if users could zoom the display in and out (for example on my screen the text in the quick guide images is illegible).

1. Back button issue. 2. Stays active after Exit. 3. Internet browser stays active as well - if any video was viewed.

I learned a lot from this app. The links within the text take you to other rules that may apply and then return you to the place you were.

App worked fine on iPhone but on android problems with scrolling through quiz answers. Just add a next and previous button to make it easier to scroll through answers

Updated on the 1st and the rules were still 2012-2015. Re installed from scratch and error persists. When will the 2016 rules be available on the App?

Any time I search it says, unable to connect to internet check settings. Even though I have internet connection. Same issue on phone and tablet

Quiz doesn't work. Also, full rules download to mobile Shud be an option, for no network areas or roaming.

Mostly well written rules simply explained but could do with a better zoom version for those poor of sight and, yes, back button is an issue.

Well organised rules & searchable

Mostly good. Back button not working is a problem. Would benefit from the addition of a section on the R&A or USGA decisions and rulings. Found the fix for the quiz results problem everyone seems to have in another review, after much frustration and a nasty first review of my own. There are two tiny motes of grey either side of the grey question line - very easy to miss, they navigate forward and back through your answers.

Cannot download Flash player so useless application

It has proved very useful. The quiz is the reason for the loss of a star. Multichoice, all it does is total your score and show which answer was correct, BUT NOT WHY OR EVEN THE RULES REFERENCE. That is very unhelpful. I hope they will create links from the correct answer to the rule in the app. No where near compliant with Android conventions on navigation.

After the quiz it just show me the first answer and does not want to continue to the rest. Only the back button and escape works at that point.

Excellent tool but unlike the full website you cannot see a list of all your quiz answers beyond question 1. It would be 5 stars if this could be resolved for the Galaxy S4 & Note 4☺
