Remote Prompter

Really comfortable to use and it works with my Bluetooth keyboard. I cannot think of a more simple and yet so featured prompter app. Beautiful. However it should prompt to save any changes made to the text or at least store the text copied to the screen without losing it when checking other screens or re entering the app

Doesn't save the text I pasted. If I try to go back after starting the prompter then it exits the program, loses my text, and I have to start again.

Thank you very mush for your generosity. To answer FotoSafari below. Just use your device with a remote Keyboard. Available on Android an Apple. Use a USB ToGo cable extension for appropriate device and plug in the remote Keyboard dongle in the USB portion of the cable and you have a remote. Some keyboards also include a touchpad for a mouse. Worse app ever, text was overlapping, tried everything to make it work

Great app, NOTE: For those whining about a separate screen to view, don't be a cheap ass and get a MHL cable and connect it to a monitor with HDMI, geesh. It has a few big problems: 1) Cannot stop script once started. 2) Text entered never saved, always reverts to default on load, even on trying to select a file from a folder, terrible. 3) Folder location is storage/emulated/0 so if your files are in another location like an sdcard/ you're pretty much screwed. 4) Folder names aren't even sorted... considering Android has tons of folders, this means a lot of time looking... kinda lazy on the dev's part. The actual usage of this app is excellent. I hope these issues will be fixed and I'll happily give it 5 stars. Request: Would be nice to have a 'speed number' to see the slow/fast buttons affect something. Really like the keyboard implementation, although I haven't been able to test it yet (HTC M8). I had to re-install this app and then it worked well. Because the first time that I installed this app didn't work with different format of texts. I recommend you use Plain Text format and you don't have any problem. NEVER USE Word or HTML formats.

I couldn't remove the lore-ipsum text. Tried several times to remove iut & paste in my text. All it did was re-paste the lore-ipsum text I just cut. On one attempt, it pasted words on top of words ... I have a brand new ACER tablet running Android. This a useless app in my book.

I like this app but have to echo others suggestion that a way is devised to open txt. files from locations outside the app. I wouldn't mind if the margins were adjustable too. Otherwise it's cool.

This is a great app, the criticism is not deserved at all. It does exactly what it is intended to do, the remote function is great when you are working alone with an Android device Teleprompter. A+ and please keep up the great work.

It's free so I can't be too critical and I don't have a keyboard to test the 'remote' functions. I'd say it's pretty hard to use without one. As many others have said - and there are many other apps guilty of this - it NEEDS the feature to be operated remotely through another tablet so that the crew behind the camera can see what's being mirrored to the reader in front of the camera. Without this function it is useless to the Film & Video Producers mentioned in the description.

Great app and works on Sony z3 tablet with mouse control plugged into tablet. Clear screen with the supplied default text, but I haven't been able to load my script in yet, no doubt it's my fault but I'm sure it is easy. Will try BT keyboard next. Love the easy on-screen editing, just what you need for those last minute changes that presenters throw at you. As a former QTV prompt user, this is soo easy to cart around.

Why is it that so many apps do not come with an instruction manual? Please, please, where can i find some basic instructions?

This is a good thing, most apps have no remote, and remote is essential. Loses a star for adobe air, but this app does the job at great price. Needs better script loading/saving mode, but it works :)

Excellent tool

A cameraman cannot be in front of the camera and behind it at the same time. In a low budget shoot where you would use an android teleprompter solution and would not afford hiring someone just to control the teleprompter speed, it is IMPERATIVE to have a remote solution that allows you to control the speed by looking at a mirror of the tablet scrolling on YOUR PHONE so you can really see what is happening. There is no android solution like this. One of them gets close but the speed on the phone is completely different from the tablet... so it's useless. Please add this ONE feature... it would make it a truly viable solution.

Finally, a developer for Android that is serious about making quality production apps. iOS has had lots of apps for video production, from teleprompter to slate, notes with timecode, etc. Their "Digital Clapper" looks like one to check out, too. I haven't used it in the field yet, but I'm doing some tests right now. I think I'm going to buy one of those small, handheld bluetooth keyboards off of Amazon. Still being able to control it by your Android phone would be a nice addition. It would also be nice if the app could be launched from an Android file browser when clicking on a .txt file. Also, some kind of online storage integration like Dropbox or Google Drive would be great for collaboration. Like one client makes their own scripts since they have the necessary details needed to write it. This way, they could upload to the storage and if they have a change, just replace it really quickly. And we wouldn't have to fiddle with getting it saved onto the device. Still, these are all improvements that can be added. It's got a good base with being new to the market. I'll update my rating once I use it in real world setting!

Tried six android prompters and this one is the best so far for using a bluetooth keyboard like a remote control. But still needs some work as theres no incremental adjustment for the increase or decrease of speed so it jumps irradically when you try and speed up or slow down. Also would be nice to have option to start text at middle or bottom rather than right at the top. But overall happy that I finally found an android version that works.

The app could use support for slideshow clicker so it can be paused or advanced. Also, it has no way to navigate out of the folder that opens by default (only allows going in deeper into its sub-folders). That being said, it still is the best Teleprompter app on the market. Solid 4 stars!

Since upgrading my Nexus 7, I can no longer see a file structure. The default (and only) folder visible is storage/emulator/0, which is part of the new Kitkat multi-user structure. I can see my files in Astro File Manager and in Windows via USB, but I cannot see any file structure at all on the Nexus 7 in Remote Prompter. I have even tried loading files into the /0 directory, with no luck. I am confident you will fix this bug, so I am going with 4 stars.

First off, this app requires Adobe Air. Once that was installed it worked beautifully. Simple and effective tool for basic voiceover and video. I haven't tried to connect a keyboard yet but it works great with my Nexus 7.
