aTabSplitter for Android
I thought this was a GREAT app, but now it's just 'GOOD'. I realized it does not have an entry for the tax - - or none that I can see. Is there ANYWHERE in the USA where there is no tax on restaurant service? Tip is restricted to increments of 5%. I like to leave a tip usually more than 15%, but not usually 20% unless it was a very special occasion or service. I use 18% as my calculations. So - - it's not as thorough an app as I'd like. I'll look for something better until Mr.Colan improves this one.
This is the best one I have come across. Most of the bill splitters out there take the sum (with or without tax) have you input the number of people, divide that and then multiply times the tip percentage to give everyone the same total. Or (($ +($xT))/N)xTip%. You can figure that on a calculator. Well if one person orders a lobster and one a salad it's hardly fair. This app allows you to enter each persons dishes, tax %, and scale the tip from 0 to 30%. I would like to be able to edit the Person label tho.
Mihai, my suggestion for you is to implement an "are you sure?" message for the reset button because you can hit it by mistake and lose everything.
"All who sound self-righteous,by submitting comments, giving narrow-minded lectures, READ THIS". Well, as educated as ur "Play Market Lecture" on customer gratuity sound (wink wink) + that lil' glimpse into a server's finances/lack of. Guessing ur a server? Lord, I hope so, or ur 1 helluva advocate! I'm just making an "educated" guess, as2 the reason for a 5%grat. Well, America's 1of very few countries that even leave gratuities when we "treat ourselves 2a nite out". So, it's funny you think this is solely used by in Americans! Hence, the "World Wide Web"So if ur dining out/gettin' hammered, whatever the occasion, 5% is rather gracious, when it's customary 2 receive nothing ANYTHING at all, don't ya think? And w/a name like 'Mihai', I'm thinking the devlpr. may not be from around here. So 2 think u can tell someone that "18% is quite unacceptable",or that u have a say @ALL in any1's $ or how it's spent, kinda makes me wanna smack ya around a abit ;). Paying the bill/tab's MUST, gratuity's a Igift. Everyone knows that stndrd etiquette's 15%, been 4EVER. Lastly, all this stooping's makin me ill. If ur livelihood depends on an xtra $3? well, u already know what I'd say...

All who want quality service READ THIS I don't know why it gives the option for such a low tip ie 5%. Ridiculous. Do you people know that server's only make around $2.85/hr?! And still pay taxes out of that. So sorry, 18% IS QUITE UNACCEPTABLE. You can have $$ to treat yourself a night out but can't afford giving the hardworking server 3 extra bucks? I 3dollars doesn't even buy a gallon of gas!!
