At the start of the American Civil War the entire standing army of the United States of America consisted of barely more than 17,000 officers and soldiers. By the end of the war more than 3,000,000 enlisted and fought. As both sides realized the need to equip and train these growing armies Hardee's Tactics was adopted as the standard manual for training Officers and Soldiers in the maneuvers needed on the field of battle. Containing the original 1855 publication text and more than 50 animations this app provides both the casual battlefield visitor as well as the seasoned campaigner a view of these complex movements and a taste of life as a Civil War Soldier.
