RICOH THETA HDR for Android
This is a neat app but it lacks one critical feature: the embedding of proper meta tags so that the images can be uploaded to Facebook and other sites. The images created by this program ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FACEBOOK and other sites. The images will NOT show as 360 panoramas.
No matter what you do it can't find Theta. Version 2.25
No matter what you do..App can't connect to camera.
The app doesn't let u export an HDR file. The only thing u can get is a jpg image. So it's useless.
We can get HDR picture just with one click
Even when other apps connect to my camera this one won't.
app cannot connect to Ricoh Theta 360 S.
App works perfectly with the Ricoh images come out perfectly!
This app used to work great now it gets confused on the photographed images and it often puts an old image overlaid over a new image. Just don't keeping track as it photographs. I will restart the app but it will still pull a previous photograph and try to merge it with a different photograph result is a ghost. I do like how it's telling me now which picture it's on. Please fix I love the app
Does what it says it does. Gets much better indoor exposures, good for using the Theta for indoor virtual tours. The scene must remain static - no moving elements or you will get ghosting (which is normal)
When will there be an update so this app can be used with Theta S?
'Cannot connect to camera. Check Wi-Fi setting'. What's wrong with this application? I can't use it.
When it works, it does what its intended for and is great. However, I often have a lot of trouble getting the app to connect with the camera (theta s). Most of the time I try everything but it just does not want to connect. So I can not rely on this to get my hdri shots and always have to have a backup app ready. Could also do with some manual settings.
I wonder sometimes how selling broken software is even legal.
I love how it gives me an HDR photo without looking cartoonish. I do wish that you would put a manual levels adjustment in it for rooms that are a bit dark so that I could lighten it.
I have followed instructions (connect to camera WiFi before starting app, close all other Theta apps), but keep getting message 'Connection to Theta failed. Please check whether you're connected to THETA'S wifi'. Google Nexus 5, Android 6.0.
RICOH THETA HDR does work with the Theta S but unless I'm missing something it doesn't seem to save any exif data which means images created with the application could not be uploaded to Google maps. for instance, as geolocation data is missing. Also if the camera or subject moves during the exposures there can be evidence of the multiple exposures (guess that is to be expected but something to be aware of.) I have found that images taken natively with the camera (single shot) can be successfully manipulated in Photoshop to deal with shadow/highlight areas without stripping the exif so for me that while this app shows promise it isn't quite there yet.
This app produces good quality 3 shot HDR -2ev 0ev +2ev on your device. With the Theta S remember to set Noise reduction on in the Ricoh Theta App first before using this App. If that were an option in this App and there were an option for 5 shots at 1ev intervals I will give this App 5 stars.
Working finally with Theta S , make sure you set the auto option in Theta S app before using this app with the camera , noise reduction , EV O , it produce nice HDR images as well , the distance between each shot is 5 sec so for outdoors not so good but that have to do with the Theta S camera that need time for stitching
I was hoping that thus will be a real HDR and save a proper EXR or HDR file in 16 or 32 bit float. Instead this just makes an tone map image. I want real HDRs to do CG lighting.
Does not connect to my theta s camera. WiFi is connected, all other theta apps are closed.
This program to elevate the Theta to a new quality level and since Theta S is been updated to give much needed quality this problem now is like a must to the people who appreciate HDR photography. Please update soon and if you need Beta tester I will love to participate.
When will there be an update so this app can be used with Theta S?
I was able to connect to the theta s using the native app, but not with this HDR app
'Cannot connect to camera. Check Wi-Fi setting'. What's wrong with this application? I can't use it.
I like this app. It works well and reliably every time. The images are a little bright and/or overexposed at times. Some control over the exposure settings would definitely make this a great app worth paying for.

This app I one of the best hdr theta apps I have found, and it is FREE! It does lack one feature, I need a way to lock the settings manually so each room looks the same without having to do post editing (I beleive in shooting or right the first time)
