The pronunciation is British and not American, so if you want to confuse your kid by having words with the short A sound like short O, go ahead and buy it. Otherwise skip it. I wish they had a choice to pick which dialect you'd want, or acknowledge the fact that it only works for certain countries' dialects. It looks like it may otherwise be a great program, but I had to uninstall it IMMEDIATELY because my kid was looking over my shoulder and it was so, so wrong! (BTW, I find it a little suspicious that I can't find even 1 other review with any complaints about this. How would an app only be popular in one country? It's not like they'd have commercials or anything. I wonder if all the reviews are all legitimate, actual people.)

This is a very good app. My little sister loves it and she is learn so much. I would definitely recommend this app.

my daughter had no interest in learning until we bought these and she loves them, she is happy to sit down with me and use them.

When my daughter started in reception, I was quite apprehensive about her learning to read & spell. I needn't have bothered. This is an excellent teaching system. It is easy for the children to remember, with the "phonic" actions being addictive.

it is not colourful or illustrated, and there are no jokes. But it really, really works.

This app has really helped me to re-enforce phonics to children (aged 4-6)who are learning English as a second or third language.
