Esta publicación se concibe desde su origen como una obra de información general sobre el estado del medio ambiente basada en diversas fuentes, el texto pretende ofrecer una radiografía ambiental del conjunto del territorio español y, en un grado más preciso, y siempre que ha sido posible, de sus distintas comunidades autónomas.
