Sunken Cities: British Museum

The spectacular Sunken Cities : Egypt's Lost Worlds exhibition has opened at the British museum. This is an absolute must-see in this year's London cultural scene. Running from May 17 to Nov 27, 2016 the exhibition features over 200 artefacts found meters deep in clay and silt underneath the river Nile. These artefacts are from the submerged and lost cities of Thonis-Herkalion and Canopus.

The exhibition will be the first at the British Museum to explore underwater archaeology. Several of the exhibits have arrived in UK for the first time. Apart from these underwater discoveries, there are important loans from Egyptian museums that have rarely be seen outside Egypt.
