ReelPortal is a "private rooms"-only video chat and conference app for Android 2.3 or above. Designed to work with multiple platforms (Android, iOS, Blackberry, PC), its features include:

ReelPortal is room-centric. You automatically connect to everyone in a room when you enter it. No need to call them individually.
Meeting on ReelPortal is similar to doing a teleconference: schedule a time and room. When participants sign on, you see/hear them right away.

For years I have used this beautiful creation on android and flash browsers. Great Amazing service. Reel Portal forever. To be it's sophistication that looks easy for anyone to get used to. High end device a bonus but not needed at all..

I have been using this on multiple devices (Droid Razr, sero 7, HTC incredible, kindle fire hd) for lan video chatting and it works great. To use it over lan you need to download the server from the developers web page. Setup is simple. Had it up and running on multiple devices in about 10 minutes.

This seemed like it would do the job, peer to peer video chat on a LAN, hosting our own server, but unfortunately the app dies as soon as it launches on the Nexus 7 devices we're using.

I Have 3 computers wirelessly connected at home and 2 android phones connected to the same LAN network. I was looking for a software using which I would be able to chat between any of these 5 devices at any given time regardless of whether the internet is working or if the internet is down. I hope I have found what i was looking for. Update: I have installed the reel portal on my PC andandroid mobile. On my PC I have unstalled both the exe files for windows, also installed adobe air, but when i start reelportal it says "ReelPortal timed out. Retrying..." What can i do to overcome this error.
