About The Friendly Ogre
“An ogre isn’t anything like you and I…They are much stronger than us.”
After Thomas’ Travels in Bookland, La Souris Qui Raconte leads us yet again to the doors of the library with this beautiful interactive tale in which a young girl and an ogre become acquainted with one another.
“But ogres don’t read! What on earth could he possibly be doing here?”
A poetically told story about discovering poetry. A tale within a tale. What if ogres aren’t quite what they seem? What if little girls aren’t quite who ogres think they are? The Friendly Ogre is a story of unexpected friendship between two children’s book characters who meet somewhere in between each other’s imaginary worlds.
Some reasons that will make you love this new interactive story:
- An original story about the joy of reading and the importance of friendship.
- Enhanced interactive illustrations.
- 20min of poetry and discovery.
- Available in 2 languages: English and French
- A way to experience the story that can be either silent or read by a storyteller

It could be considered as a parady of Romeo and Juliet, but the story carries things beyond the love theme. Very touching and philosophical story, raising lots of serious questions to both kids and adult. I would have given it five stars if it could have had more interactive designs. But hey, the most important thing here is the story! It might be adored by teenages as well.
