Wildflowers of the Great Plains features in-depth profiles of 500 plants indigenous to the region. Outdoor enthusiasts in the area can now accurately identify and classify local plant species with their mobile devices.

Each entry includes a complete profile for the given plant including the scientific name, family, common name(s), flowering period, height, habitat and more. Users can search by almost any imaginable means, including color, plant category, flower month, family name, habitat, stem, inflorescence and leaf characteristics.

Lite version of the app is free with 25 plant species. Purchase the full version in-app for $3.99 to unlock all 500 species.

This is not a field guide unless your world only has 25 plants. Want more and you will have to pay. And you can't register becaise input is crazy buggy - one letter tap may make one letter or a random assortment.

Yes, you have to pay if you want to upgrade. It's either that, endless ads during the user experience, or a trial usage period. Anyway, flowers, yay!

I started out with the free app (I think 25 species) then soon purchased the full version with over 500. It's really comprehensive with great descriptions. Every plant I searched for this fall I was able to find. I can't wait for spring to take this back into the field with me in the spring.

There's not near enough flowers.You have to buy their update to get them all. So I did but it would not let me download it! Buyer bewhere!
