This is not a game. Monster Scan is an entertaining utility that simulates "scanning" for monsters. No monsters are ever found which helps reassure children they have no reason to be afraid of monsters.
Development of the app is supported by ads. An in-app-purchase can be made to remove ads and add additional options to the app.
The upgrade adds the follow features:
- Add/edit/remove list of monsters
- Set scan time/duration for each monster
- Enable/disable individual sounds
By default, the "monsters" that are scanned for are:
- Aliens
- Ghosts
- Goblins
- Demons
- Zombies
- Mummies
- Vampires
With the in-app-upgrade, this list of monsters can be changed. Existing monsters can be removed or renamed. Unlimited new monsters can be added -- you choose the name of the monster so it can be completely customized to your child's concerns.

This worked to make my 6 year old feel better after watching a "scary movie". I wish it listed dinosaurs, sharks and ghost towns but that's only because my kid is afraid of everything.
