About CheckMate Checklists

NOTE: Android has a plethora of device types. Please test the app out on your device with the sample checklist provided before making a purchase.

CheckMate's are the most endorsed checklist systems in aviation. CheckMate for Android brings the world class CheckMate content to your mobile device. The CheckMate philosophy is to standardize as much as possible checklists across all aircraft. Once you use one CheckMate for an aircraft, moving to a different aircraft is a seamless transition. It also tries to be as concise as possible without leaving out any critical information. CheckMate's have been around for 20+ years and the mobile devices bring a wealth of new capabilities to an almost perfect system.

One of the most notable capabilities is personalization. Once a CheckMate for an aircraft is purchased, that content becomes yours to modify to your exact tastes. There is a web-based content management system where all CheckMate's you purchase are stored and modifications can be made.

Being enthusiastic, here are my suggested improvements. A. Either widen the checklist columns (Samsung S6) or make the checklist screen width adjustable by user per phone screen size. Some things just don't abbreviate well for the narrow space, and you can't read or use the adjoining checklist column anyway. B. Add audio read back of checklist text. Less distraction=more safety, especially enroute. Read August Aviation Consumer reviews on checklists; this product beats those reviewed except for audio.

I downloaded this application and in no time at all was able to figure out how to create my own checklist to specifically suit my older cessna 182 and the items I want accessible quickly. I wish there were more tab colors and if there is a way to include pictures in the notes or tables. If there is a haven't found them. I recommended this application for the instructors at my flight school.

It looks like a great app and I would be happy to pay £10 for checklists for 2-3 aircraft. However, when I thought about downloading the Piper Warrior and Piper Archer checklist, which are extremely similar, it would cost £10 per checklist! It would be nice if we could buy a collection of 2 or 3 checklist for a set price.

Attempted to use app twice on two different individuals, this should be a board game and not represent itself as a serious source of current information. The would serve well on the history channel.

Installed then created an account. The "free" app then immediately required me to buy a checklist. Technically free to download but very misleading. Uninstalled immediately.

I've been using this app for a year now and on 5 aircraft. This interactive checklist is the best way to stay on track with your preflight. I really like that I can customize a list and save it under the trail number. This is great for those items that are specific to that particular aircraft. When upgrading to the Samsung Note 4 and its high dpi screen, the app had some issues. Support for the app worked with me to troubleshoot this and then issued a new version for download in one day. Great service!

This app does entirely what it is supposed to, and it eliminates the need to carry a clipboard around. It is also much safer, because it ensures every step is completed every time.

I have no problem with the paying for a check list but the price should at least be mentioned in the description of the app...

No other app that I know meets these reqmnts: edit on the web, Apple and droid platforms, sharing, AND printing. For a year, I settled with Checklist from Foreflight, but it was only hosted in Apple platforms, no print and when I asked them for improvements, they had no intentions to improve it. I then tried AV Checklist, looked promising and asked the developer for a print, but support kept vanishing. A few weeks ago, I bought Checkmate, app was short of a printing option. I contacted them and unbelievable, they answered within 24 hrs my multiple recommendations of a print function to multiple format, a user's guide. In less than three weeks, they upgraded their product surpassing my reqmnts and answering my wishes. Many may say "free could be better", but the support and continous improvement and saving your data on their servers is worth it allowing you to create multiple checklists for the price of just one.

The app itself is free, but then you have to buy checklists at $15 each...
