Phonics Awareness is a comprehensive, low cost educational app based on the pre-reading skills 1st graders must have as they move from hearing sounds, into seeing the letter as a representation for the sound. This is the beginning of true phonics learning. Teachers can easily integrate these lessons into their lesson prep in the Common Core. All instructions are given verbally, and students receive immediate feedback, thereby helping students to achieve grade level.
The Common Core Foundational Skills 1st Grade states:
Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds
(phonemes).
a. Distinguish long from short vowel sounds in spoken single-syllable words.
b. Orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes),
including consonant blends.
c. Isolate and pronounce initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in
spoken single-syllable words.
d. Segment spoken single-syllable words into their complete sequence of
individual sounds (phonemes).
All of these foundational skills are covered in this Phonics Awareness app, making it very usable in any first grade school core program. Over 400,000 people agree. I tested this program in my support lesson for add kid and one with poor memory and listening skills. Good for add because no distractions but the children got quickly bored with it. Please add variety for exercises or even a different bug or colour theme for different section. I was hoping to use this as a "reward" and it might work as such if a correct answer resulted in a surprise e.g. funny pop-up action. Could be good for people that get overwhelmed by too much stimulus.

I had to download the app twice and still couldn't get it to even start up . It kept saying unfortunately phonics awareness has stopped . How has it stopped when it's never been opened ! I won't try to download it again , not worth my time .

My baby learned to recognize shapes,colors,alphabets and numbers at the age of two without my help because of android apps..And Since I am a bit of a busy mom,I also want to find an app that could help me teach my 3 year old learn how to read and I think I finally found it.thanx
