About Baby Sleep Trainer

Baby Sleep Trainer is the easy and essential app for using Dr. Ferber's progressive waiting period method (a.k.a. CIO, or Cry It Out). You can also deviate from the time intervals that the Ferber method uses at any time by toggling the timer up and down.

The timer and intervals are great, super easy to use, and run in the background. My only issue was that the history wipes frequently. Not a big deal once you know not to rely on it, but it muddied the first couple nights of data for us a bit. I definitely recommend this app for sleep training.

N70%
by N####:

This App is loaded with the default recommended wait times from Ferber. What I don't like about the app is you can't make custom timers for durations you want to do. You can change the timer before it starts, but having to change it every time is a bit annoying.

N70%
by N####:

Great concept, poor execution. App is buggy: history isn't preserved and the app needs confirmations for every action, especially destructive ones like ending a cry session. If you're up in the middle of the night you'll probably fat-finger something so don't put the end cry session button right next to the pause timer button!

H70%
by H####:

I don't like that you can't change the intervals of the cry time. The booster also stopped tracking for no reason, which was the biggest reason I downloaded this app! Other than that I do like the app.

G70%
by G####:

Gave this five stars at first, but changing to one now. It was working great until about 3 hours into the first night when I just went to check the cry session logs and they had all deleted themselves. Completely defeats the purpose of the app.

N70%
by N####:

If I had one piece of constructive criticism it would be for the app to continue running whilst using the phone on another application. It took a few times of me restarting the clock to realise what was happening. Other than that I'm delighted!

N70%
by N####:

I could use some graphs or something to organize the data. And a way to edit an itchy trigger finger. Otherwise it's really helpful!

N70%
by N####:

the set up is good and nothing wrong with the app it runs great but I feel like there can be more to it ,I can pretty much just use my stop watch on my phone and log it that's all it really is

Keeps you sane at 3AM! Thank you!

I love the Ferber method. I have had to start again several times with my daughter after life disruptions like vacations or sickness. Now she is a toddler transitioned to a big girl bed-that brings up a whole new slew of issues, but second night in and the method is proving its merit yet again. This app makes the timing of things easy, especially in the middle of the night. I don't like that you can't run the app in the background while using your phone, though.

S70%
by S####:

App is great! I have been struggling with cry it out. The app is providing the structure I need to keep with it. I tried all last week on my own and with my second son and was unsuccessful but today I was able to get him to sleep in 41 minutes of crying. I'm pretty excited and well worth the $.99.

Easy to keep track, but interface is not very Android friendly. The "dismiss" vs. back button navigation are somewhat annoying. I'd also like to have the session history from the free version carried over to the paid version.

S70%
by S####:

It keeps resetting the time accrued, so I cannot accurately time how long my baby is crying. On 4/19/16 they responded that if I kept the app running and didn't turn on other apps it will work. Which makes complete sense, but I think that defeats the purpose of this app and a timer. I that were the case, I would rather use a time. At least then I could browse through Reddit as my daughter cries. Other than that, excellent customer service.

Q70%
by Q####:

While the overall concept of this app is outstanding and extremely helpful i does not run well in the background and often resets. I have read others had similar issue, but even with a few minor bugs this app gives you peace of mind and some sanity back by doing the interval timers for you. Highly recommend to anyone strugglig with sleep training.

Sometimes I go back and forth in my phone from the timer to other things, well sometimes I go back to check the timer and it completely resets, baby has been crying for 30 mins and it completely erased and reset. It's so frustrating!!!

S70%
by S####:

Makes it incredibly easy to ferber. Just stare at the timer and try not to break down. The colors make your eyes easy to adjust too

S70%
by S####:

Works as a basic timer with gradually increasing times. It doesn't save or record your previous use. It has a history button that just shows a blank page. So it's OK, but it should have been free.

S70%
by S####:

Easy to use, intuitive interface, a few nice extra features (dimming is great for a light sensitive baby). Excellent.

C70%
by C####:

So far so good with this app. It helps me keep my sanity while baby is fussing as I can see the timer and it lets me know when I can go back to her. I like that there are 3 options to alert you when time is up-vibrate, light and sound and you can turn any of them on or off. Also like that I can see this history of her sleeps. Love this app.

C70%
by C####:

Really upset I paid 9.99 for this. The timer and notifications don't even work unless constantly in the app. The whole reason I didn't get the free app was because I wanted to be able to do other things on my phone while baby was crying. never notified me..

C70%
by C####:

This timer worked great with my daughter. The method works, and rather than read the book and find the page with the tables every night this app makes it simple. The developer responds fast and updates when needed. Timer now works in the background perfectly. Looking forward to new features, even though they may not be necessary as the app currently has all the necessary features to successfully sleep train.

P70%
by P####:

Keeping track of time while sleep training was my biggest problem, so I love this app for that. Would give 5 stars if it kept a log of each day. At the moment I'm using it in conjuction with the memo app on my phone so I can look back on how my daughter is progressing.

W70%

The fell asleep button doesn't work and it isn't keeping track of prior times

Y70%

Would be 5 stars if you fixed this issue

No reason app should be 50 megs
