Amazing app. The ads load quickly and in stunning HD ( sometimes on a Neverending loop too, so you really get the full effect ! ) but the actual programmer content crashes about 90% of the time. If you're lucky enough to actually get to watch what you selected in the first place the picture quality is similar to watching your TV screen after its been smeared with Vaseline. RTE pushing the boundaries of broadcasting perfection once again. It makes me so proud. 100% would recommend.

Worst app I've downloaded. Can't watch one thing straight through. Will now be deleting the app and won't download it again. What does the license fee pay for?

This app is awful. Had to sit through 5 adds in a row only to find the player doesn't support Chromecast. I know for a fact it's straight forward for a developer to add this functionality. So why don't you do it?

Low quality video, no Chromecast support and crashes a lot after the adds which requires you to start from the beginning. RTE, if you won't produce good apps for smart TV's then at least produce one good app that will work with Chromecast. It's not that difficult. After the December update it still has an "Untrapped Error" when starting and still no Chromecast support

What is the problem with RTE and TV3 not being able to produce a decent app that is compatible with Chromecast. They obviously pay no attention to comments here. Please just look at the All4 app to see how you should be doing it!

Can you please fix the big fixes! I'm sick of watching a programme and then it crashes. If I delete this app, I won't be downloading it again! Put the tax payers & TV licences money to good use and pay your IT staff to fix this app please!

This app is absolute rubbish. If I was paying RTE to advertise my product on this app I would be furious as the quality of streaming is just plain awful. Now some of the Irish produced programmes have Irish sign language which takes a lot of the screen, there are English substitles available if required. RTE should be disbanded or every member of management should be fired for fraud for wasting everyones good hard earned money to pay for the licence fee to employ these clowns. Whoever is responsible for creating this app should also be fired

very disappointing doesn't work with chromecast For android devices only apple have this feature. Also image quality quite poor.

Useless app! Doesn't support chromecast, can't pause without it crashing, can't rewind without crashing and can't fast forward without crashing. Pay tv license for nothing

The app needs to be updated, it doesn't feel like an app, more like an inadequate mini browser. Chromecast support would also be great if added!

Why is there neither Chromecast support or a version for Android TV? The iPad version of RTE Player supports Chromecast so RTE obviously just don't care at all about Android users.

Extreme lag when scrolling through the app and crashes a lot even when watching show honestly not worth using till fixed

Add Chromecast support please. Adverts are a little bit annoying but support decent content so tolerable enough. Nothing else to complain about

The advertisements work flawlessly, but the programmes not so much. Very hard to watch something without disruption.

Still no chromecast support in latest update!! It's 2017 and people have been streaming to TV for years... it's really taking ages! Can't watch RTE player as it has no chromecast support..

Its not a bad app, but could be better. No Chrome cast support on Android is a bit disappointing. Why isn't everything in HD ?

It is exclusive to android from Google. If you do not have an android device you can't access this app eventhough you pay a licence fee like everyone else. I guess google / android have a bigger wallet.

Garbage. Constant buffering, appalling picture quality, no chromecast support. Just the pits.

Fails to load program more often than not, but not before forcing you to sit through advertisements. Quality is variable. No casting support. Not good enough for 2018.

Why isn't there Android TV or Chromecast support by now like your British counterpart BBC? Who wants to watch catchup TV on a tablet when they have a streaming box to watch it on the TV? With the amount of money taxpayers are pumping into RTE they really need to up their game as their app is terribly backward compared to the state broadcaster apps of every other European country!

Maybe its time that RTE needs to get professionals in to create a professional app. The days of "I have a cousin who is good at Art" is over. Channel 4 would be a good start!!!

Doesn't support Chromecast casting to TV's. Doesn't have a version of the app for Android TV. Fine for watching on a tiny 4 inch mobile screen, but who wants to do that?
