CAT_Metro, Magdy el Shafee

S’ha etiquetat Metro com la primera novel•la gràfica àrab, però això no significa que no hi hagi llibres de còmics anteriors per a adults, com les obres de denúncia del marroquí Mohamed Nadrani. El llibre, que retrata la corrupció d’aquells anys, va ser prohibit ràpidament per la censura del govern de Mubarak. Traduït a diversos idiomes, Shafee va ser, a més a més, el promotor de la revista Doshma i actualment segueix treballant a favor de la difusió del novè art egipci amb iniciatives com el Festival de Còmic del Caire.
