DragQueen Anchor Alarm

This app is buggy. Both of my tablets behave the same. Would sometimes loose the anchor setting. The anchor distance would regularly show a much larger number and then return to the correct distance. In the middle of the night the screen would light up for no apparent reason.

Shame that the author thinks the screen should not dim. What a waste of battery.

I down loaded it but then I was told to download Adobe air to make the app work. No thanks. I'll delete the app.

Anchored with my family on our 37 foot yacht. Alarm started going off in the middle of the night. Wind had come up and we were slipping. We were able to pull up anchor and move to another location because this app alerted us of imminent danger. Thanks!!!

Looks like a good idea. Tried it on a recent sailing trip. There is a math error such that the longitude comes up negative (-82 degrees for Florida). This is minor if consistent. My real problem with it is that I would enable the alarm, but every time I went back in to check it, the alarm was off. It never made a sound even though we did drag the anchor that night. And it didn't make a sound as we left anchor the next morning. I need to experiment some with this, but I think it is a bit rough yet.

Alarm set for 100 feet, but alarm sounded at 940 feet. Reinstalled with no improvement.

Worked well with Android 4.4 stopped working with 5.0 Lollipop. Been out for the last 6 mo. and really miss it on my phone ( Nexus 5 ). Could you please fix it? !!!!

Far more versatile and useful than most. Allows manual inputting of position. Tracks accuracy of GPS and alarms if GPS degrades past a point YOU set! Awesome feature! The alarm will wake the dead. It has saved us twice when our anchor didn't set well. Now, if it had mapping with a drift circle, it would be perfect!

Requires that Adobe AIR be installed separately.

Great app, a feature that would be great is to have an alarm option that would call or text the alarm so you could leave the boat and get the alarm on a different phone.

I already have GPS and AIS based anchor drag alarms. They work fine and are on equipment intended for marine use and are on all the time away from a dock anyway. What I want is an anchor alarm that lets me know when I have swung out of a particular sector. Perhaps they'll add this eventually and perhaps someone will come along with a android device built for use in the marine environment. Tired of having to keep my android stuff in a box.

This app works well and is very simple. If the alarm won't sound, it's settings, probably media volume. If the GPS doesn't work, it's prolly off too.

Drag Queen works except for the Alarm. It never sounds.

On my boat, gps reception in the cabin is intermittent on my Samsung Droid. Makes the drag queen useless. It depends on the thickness and materials of your hull and cabin.

A sure battery killer! I don't know how to exit the app. And it never seems to stop the GPS.

Froze on the instructions. Unuseable.

Could not get it to work at all on my HTC one v.

It's trustworthy. Thanks so much for the great app. Yeah, it'll kill the battery... leave your phone plugged in upstairs. The alarm is LOUD. If the alarm isn't sounding, you aren't setting it right. Takes some messing with before bed time because the usability is a little lame. After you figure it out, it's priceless. Used it all summer. EVO 4G
