El Islam, patrimonio de todos

CAPÍTULO 1: LA CIVILIZACIÓN
La Organización de Naciones Unidas celebró durante el año 2001 la Conferencia Mundial contra el Racismo, la Xenofobia y las Formas Conexas de Intolerancia. La Conferencia estuvo acompañada de numerosas acciones destinadas a erradicar uno de los mayores problemas que afectan a nuestras sociedades actuales: el rechazo a lo diferente. Entre ellas se encuadra esta exposición, y este proyecto cultural del que tú formas parte.

Conseguir una sociedad justa en la que todos nos sintamos ciudadanos libres, útiles y respetados, es una labor difícil que debemos emprender entre todos. El hecho de que hoy en día, en plena era de la globalización, la carrera del espacio y las más avanzadas tecnologías de la comunicación, existan millones de personas que padezcan hambre y toda clase de privaciones, es algo que nos debe doler íntimamente, y contra lo que hay que rebelarse. No podemos tampoco permitir que nadie se sienta discriminado en razón de su color o su credo. Hoy los inmigrantes son ellos, pero mañana podemos ser nosotros. De hecho, nuestros abuelos emigraron en el pasado hacia otros países más prósperos, en busca de mejores condiciones de vida.

No se trata de tolerar, sino de respetar. Todos somos diferentes, pero todos somos iguales. Compartimos los mismos derechos y las mismas obligaciones. No debemos dejarnos llevar por la incomprensión y el rechazo. Y eso sucede cuando hay desconocimiento y se manipula la información. Por ello, el saber es la mejor forma de erradicar los prejuicios.

Muchos de los inmigrantes que hoy llegan hasta nuestro país son musulmanes. Hablan otro idioma y tienen otras creencias, pero buscan aquí una acogida favorable que les ayude a llevar una existencia digna, a la que tienen el mismo derecho que tú. Sin embargo, la islamofobia (el rechazo infundado hacia el Islam) hace que a menudo se los desprecie, cayendo en los tópicos más vulgares.

Esta exposición pretende demostrar que, el mundo islámico no solamente nos resulta próximo geográfica y culturalmente, sino que tiene mucho que aportar. Lo mismo que las demás culturas de la Humanidad, es patrimonio de todos. CHAPTER 1: CIVILIZATION
The United Nations held in 2001 the World Conference against Racism, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. The Conference was accompanied by numerous actions to eradicate one of the biggest problems facing our societies: the rejection of what is different. Including this exhibition fits, and this cultural project of which you are part.

Achieve a just society in which we all feel free, useful and respected citizens, is a difficult task we must undertake together. The fact that today, in the era of globalization, the space race and the most advanced communication technologies, there are millions of people who suffer from hunger and all sorts of privations, is something we must hurt intimately, and against what to rebel. Nor can we allow anyone to feel discriminated against because of their color or their creed. Today immigrants they are, but tomorrow may be us. In fact, our grandparents emigrated in the past to other more prosperous countries in search of better living conditions.

This is not to tolerate but to respect. We are all different, but we are all equal. We share the same rights and the same obligations. We must not get carried away by misunderstanding and rejection. And that happens when there is lack of knowledge and information is handled. Therefore, knowledge is the best way to eradicate prejudice.

Many of the immigrants who reach our country today are Muslims. They speak another language and have other beliefs, but seek here a favorable reception to help them lead a dignified existence, which have the same right as you. However, Islamophobia (the unfounded rejection of Islam) makes often despise them, falling into the most vulgar topics.

This exhibition aims to show that the Islamic world will not only is geographically close and culturally, but has much to contribute. Same as other cultures of humanity, it is the heritage of all.
