How it works:
This app reads the next alarm set and turns on your LIFX bulbs before your alarm automatically, emulating a sunrise in your bedroom. It integrates with your regular alarm clock app! It uses LIFX' cloud service so a working internet connection is required.
Features:
• Adjustable colors: from deep orange to the different shades of white (2500-6000k)
• Dynamic customizable color transition: light changes its color e.g. from deep orange to warm white
• Sunrise starting time before the alarm: 0 - 120 min
• Duration of the sunrise: 0 - 120 min
• Turns off the light automatically afterwards if desired
• Active hours: only act on alarms in a specified time frame
• Tasker/Automate integration via intents
• Bulb selection
• Location detection

App is slow to open and not the prettiest, but once you set it up it works and you don't have to touch it! Developer is also helpful and responsive to issues.

Brilliant idea! I've been creating 3 separate schedules in the official app to achieve a similar effect. Linking to the next alarm creates a seamless integration with any alarm app. In addition to this the developer has replied (and responded) to feedback. Highly recommended!

I tested the app a couple of times and woke up very gently every morning. The app is easy to use and plus: because of the 'active hours'- function, you don't have to turn off eventual other alarms.

This is the function that I wanted when I originally supported the Lifx Kickstarter campaign (around 5 years ago)! Thanks to Alexander for finally giving me what I have wanted for so long. It's a very intuitive app that does exactly what I wanted. It's even better than I had imagined by using my phone alarm times instead of having to set up alarms in the app, genius! Alexander was very responsive when I contacted him with a question, get this app!!
