Biological Name Search

This mobile app allows you to search for the scientific name and classification of an animal or a plant. You can save the species that you are interested in on your mobile device. You can delete (remove) any species that you had saved as well. This is a useful tool for a farmer, a biologist, or anyone interested in the natural world.

The database is a compilation of three sources from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the PLANTS Database; the University of Michigan, the Animal Diversity Web (ADW); and the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS), a partnership of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican government agencies. Prior to upload, data records had been reviewed by hand for verification purposes. Please send any errors and mistakes by e-mail to Support@OASIS.AG. The database is updated with corrections and new entries.
