ButterFly Browser

I haven't looked yet to see if the developer(s) of this browser have attempted to recreate their success by building a browser for pc/os x/linux....but they should. This browser was a complete surprise to me from the first time I used it. I downloaded it to try it out because that's just what i like to do, never getting settled in on any particular OS, Distibution, software, app, etc. But i have used this browser almost exclusively from the beginning and have regretted when I didn't. Have I finally settled?

OMG! I can browze teh internetz! Whell... I do not understand why people want to add more features to a web browser. Oh, maybe Tor integration, invert brightness (white burs eyes by night)... But none of those other fancy browser I tried had these. So good job :). I really lite this team!

I have tried almost all the major browsers in the play store but none comes close to this. It has all the necessary functions and is super fast, even on 2G. The low RAM requirement makes it the to-go browser for less powerful phones.

This is an awesome app. Simple and perfect in almost every way. I have trouble downloading images from certain apps. It saves .htm format files. Tumblr is one. Please look into this as soon as possible. This is an App i don't want to switch from. I am wishing this gets fixed soon.

I don't understand why most reviews for this browser have significant complaints about its functionality and design, yet rate it 4 or 5 stars? I mean really, this is the slowest browser I've ever used. It suffers from choppy page loads, lacks aesthetics, and has serious glitches. There is nothing pretty about this poorly designed browser. It certainly doesn't deserve the generous overall rating it has.

It is fast and usefull browser, no fancy crap. I recommend it for older androids. Only thing i dont like is the screen rotation is not allowed so cant watch video widescreen. I give 4 stars!

After opening the browser its reload itself the last page dwhich was opened. Please fix this.for this problem I have uninstalled lots of browser and I don't want to uninstall this. So please fix this.

They copied from AC Browser . AC Browser more than good. This browser is bullshit .. it's not working properly.. very bad and ugly interface. Very slow and bad. I'm getting spam and viruses from this Browser... Use AC Browser more good quality

This Butterfly is the big names browser killer. It is fast, smooth and never crash on me. No frills, great design. From the beginning I was struggling with the Bookmark on how to access it quicker, and on how to exit the browser. Well, both can be solved easily. For the Bookmark, I set my Homepage to Bookmark, all my bookmarks are up when the browser starts. For the exit, there is menu at the top-left of the browser where you would have New Tab created, close all Tabs will exit the browser. I think those are intended, then needed to document. However, add Bookmark and Exit buttons to the address bar is arguable better option. Update 04/2016: I have been using Butterfly for a long time. One wish I may ask: add Zoom Buttons, similar to UC Browser. This in really useful for users who surf internet on TV box. Zoom used to work fine by triple mouse click, this no longer works on newer TV box with Android Lollipop.

I pretty damn sure this is a repackaged version of the Lightening browser which is undoubtedly the fastest browser on the Android OS and certainly isn't free. I guess Google doesn't bother to check what's put up on their store.

Not a single questionable attempt to send data in background to third-party servers. Lightweight and fast. Few websites have display errors but acceptable. It will be my default browser on tablet and cellphone for further tests.

Just a request , change the butterfly icon looks outdated specially in plain yellow , would like to see an option to back up bookmarks to Google drive or something

Having said that. Yes it's light weight but why do you need two search boxes on the home page? And the custom Google page that loads after a search is a real disappointment. Just want the normal Google search page.

Doesn't respond to the keyboard when the text box is under the keyboard. Can't upload pic to fb. But that all you can expect from a 1/2 mb browser. Looks like the exact copy of AC Browsr but works better than that. Only thing that annoyed me was that it crashes every time I select 'search web' operation after selecting a text.

Its good, but some things don't work right, like setting the homepage to a website, it just goes to the default blank page and the file chooser does not work at all, it doesn't bring up any dialog to choose a file.

Sorry that I had to change my review.the app is not long lasting I believe!! Stopped loading pages on my tablet after one days use.Not even search results are appearing.tried clearing data but of no use.plz fix this soon.

. . . but does it have the ability to send shortcuts to desktop as I've gone through all the settings and can't see for the life of me how you do it. If it can be done then this is my new favourite browser.

You say flash doesn't work,it does.you say reflow doesn't work,it does.don't blame google if you cannot get them to work.

I would love to use this as my daily browser, but unfortunately I'm stuck with chrome since no browser can translate pages on the fly like chrome.

I've tried every browser and I look around even when I'm completely happy with a browser as I was with Naked browser . I wasn't expecting to find something on par at all but this browser is not only on par but its so user friendly I can recommend to complete beginners to the Android something I was unable to do with Naked Browser.

Some videos could not be streamed in a player nor played directly, only download option available and no option to add pages to home screen. Adblock is not quite effective and toolbar changing colour would be cool like on lightning browser.

Flash player support is mentioned in the description but in real it doesn't support. It is a good browser but write true description

At last, a fast clean simple browser that doesn't hog memory, as quick if not quicker than the other 'famous five' browsers at the top of the ratings list and doesn't suffer from freezing and lags like at least two of them. As said, just swipe left or right for bookmarks etc ..... simples !

Runs smoothly without problems and it's super easy to use. Swipe left for bookmarks, swipe right for tabs - awesome tool.

A browser that anyone should adore. It is very responsive and lightweight. I want to report a couple of things though. First, when I disable the 'Use Orbot' option after browsing using it enabled, the browser keeps saying that Proxy Server Unavailable or something like that. Second, maybe because I am using Lollipop, but I cannot change the download path to my external SD card. And another thing: the FB link in about leads to 'not found' page.

But it doesn't scale Facebook images properly. Emailed the dev.

Reading lots of headlines lately. Was getting tired of ads & vids bogging down my browser. In the last week I've tried chrome, firefox, adblock, dolphin, stock app, UC browser & one other cheap text only app. All of them either glitchy-scrolling, posting (javascripts) or battery killers. Butterfly scrolls great, loads fast, uses less battery life, has simple and intuitive pages, bookmarks, etc. and requires less permissions than all the other browser apps.

I have downloaded nearly every "fast/amazing/greatest/etc.." browser out there only to be disappointed by lag or crash after crash. Not this time though! Pages load almost instantly and the interface is friendly and simple. Keep up the great work! My bad luck that I have kitkat 4.4 and no flash. Any work around for that?

I haven't used much but the setting...no matter which home page you set to or which search engines you select, when the browser open it take you to the default page with google search, so does the browser setting actually do anything?

Is fast and lightweight! But the app itself is quite laggy and sometimes crash. Other than that is great! Very little ram and battery usage than most of the browsers.

It's everything I want in a browser...almost. I just wish there was an easier way to access the bookmarks. An added button, maybe? Right now I still have to scroll through the list to find bookmarks. Everything else is great, though

Is a nice browser I must say. is there a one click to clear all browser history and cookies etc.. or an exit button to close the browser and clearing everything?

Excellent browser, open all types of pages and doesn't need any add-on. Beats anything else on Android

Where's the exit button? Ar the beginning it worked very fast, but sincr 3 or 4 tries it has become slower :/
