ولد الشيخ عبد الله الجهني في المدينة المنورة سنة 1396 هـ/ 1976م، لوالدين محافظين رعياه رعاية طيبة وأنبتاه نباتا حسنا، فأظهر منذ نعومة أظافره ميلا كبيرا لقراءة القرآن الكريم وحفظه وترتيله، وشارك في عدد من المسابقات القرآنية ليفوز في سن السادسة عشرة بالمركز الأول في مسابقة القرآن الكريم العالمية التي احتضنتها مكة المكرمة آنذاك. وفي إطار حرصه واهتمامه بكتاب الله، تابع القارئ عبد الله الجهني دراساته العليا في كلية القرآن الكريم بالجامعة الإسلامية بالمدينة المنورة وتخرج منها بشهادة الإجازة.

وتتميز تجربته الحياتية والمهنية بمسار جيد تمثل في شغله للعديد من المناصب والمهام خاصة في مجال الإمامة، حيث أَمَّ المسلمين في العشرينات من عمره بمسجد القبلتين بالمدينة المنورة لمدة سنتين، وبمسجد قُباء لمدة أربع سنوات، وبالمسجد الحرام سنة 1426 هـ، إضافة إلى تعيينه عضوا بهيئة التدريس في كلية المعلمين بالمدينة النبوية. وقد أظهر خلال هذه الفترة إتقانا كبيرا لقواعد القرآن فأجازه العديد من علماء القراءات المحليين والعالميين وأثنوا على طريقته في القراءة.

بفضل صوته القوي إذن، وبفضل حرصه الكبير على تلاوة كتاب الله وفق القواعد المضبوطة والأحكام الصحيحة، بذل القارئ عبد الله الجهني كل ما في وسعه فدرَس علوم القرآن بشكل أكاديمي في الجامعة، وتتلمذ على يد عدد من الشيوخ البارزين بشكل تقليدي، ونجح في تجربة الإمامة بأكبر وأشهر المساجد الإسلامية في المملكة العربية السعودية، وهو اليوم في طور استكمال دراساته العليا حيث يقوم بتهيئ أطروحة للدكتوراه في جامعة أم القرى بمكة المكرمة.
