About Eco Guru
Canadian city governments are taking initiatives that insist ongoing waste reduction, reuse and recycling opportunities to protect the environment. It is everyone’s responsibility to be inline with the city's sustainability policies. Cities are takes a lot of initiatives to train the people of Halifax about “What goes where?”. Educating people about the managing waste is very challenging to the city. To make the information about the waste management available for everyone at anytime and anywhere we developed and publishing this app for free.
WHY USE "Eco Guru"?
★ NO AD - You will not see any ad anywhere in the application. Now and always, this will be an ad-free app.
★ BILINGUAL: This app is available both in English and French.
★ DAILY TIPS: This app pops up “Did you know?” tips on daily basis. The message could be any news, updates, programs etc. For example, the garbage collection is closed on the Remembrance Day for most parts of Halifax, this message could be send through this pop up message.
★ KNOWLEDGE DEPOT: This app guides people about the color bins, purpose, types of waste, what goes where, what happens after the dump, where it is recycled, what could not be re-cycled, how our poor waste management affects the environment and the consequences
★ QUIZ: A simple quiz where people can perform self-assessment on their waste management knowledge
★ EASY CONTACTS: Using this app the user can send queries/complaints/suggestions to the HRM through E-mail/Call.
★ WIDGETS: This app helps the user to throw away his waste in the right bin. For example, if a person doubts where to throw his coffee cup he can type “coffee” in the widget search bar, this will give him the right bin.
★ CLEAN & SIMPLE UI - The whole application has clean and neat UI. Very simple and easy to use.
★ FREE FOREVER - This application is FREE now and will always be.

Usless What goes where does not work. I searched Styrofoam, aluminum and cans, separately of course. No results were found. No schedules. Android 4.4.2

The application is really helpful and educative to new residents who are not familiar with the garbage/recycling programs. Also this is a good example of how data which is openly available and provided by the city can be purposed by developers to build excellent applications. Good job !

I really liked the idea of the app telling me the closest recycling and other depots near to my location based on GPS and/or set address. Another particularly good feature is the quiz that helps review... And this is useful in understanding what kinda trash goes where... I'm usually confused about the various colors for waste management and this looks to be very useful to me! Five stars!! :)

Packed with a lot of useful information on all of your Eco friendly items. Recycling is a big headache for me, if I simply don't know what to recycle and what I cannot. With this app, I have a better picture. Don't miss the opportunity to grab this essential app.

Removing waste from the house hold could not be any easier now! Living in halifax with differential disposing systems is difficult when you don't know what to put where, but Eco Guru changes that :D
