Goddard, particularly in this first edition, took the best available translation of key documents and edited them heavily to eliminate repetitious passages and extraneous material. So this is a readers edition, not a critical edition, of these texts. However, he did nothing to water down or simplify the message of the sutras; quite the contrary. One can read this book repeatedly and still come back with new insights on each reading.

1st problem:I do not care about introductions,it is okay to have an introduction,but can you please make it shorter! 2nd problem:Not only does it have a long intro,it also have a "FEW" sutras,there ar so many sutras,such as the Heart Sutra,Amitabha Sutra,Lotus Sutra,etc. DISAPPOINTED

Of the few sutras in the app, NONE are sutras from the Buddha sermons. They are all political sutras from much later. For instance the diamond sutra was written for the Kushan empire kings' monasteries to collect gold and jewels in the name of the Buddha. Such greed and materialism is exactly the opposite of what the Buddha taught
