AutomateIt - Smart Automation

I am not easily impressed but this app is class. I do have a gripe in that having created a manual rule to set display sleep time to never, the Android display settings shows 30 minutes! Nevertheless, the plethora of uses this offers is simply quite staggering!

Used to work great, but now I have to reboot my phone to stop a sound from continuously playing on receiving txt with certain words.. Please fix. Developers have ignored numerous emails

One rule should be able to trigger multiple events... Ie on charge doable data, change screen brightness and volume all at once. Making different types of rles for each of these is a hassle. In installed to find better app

The one reason I downloaded the app was to start the music player when my phone connects to a bluetooth headset or my car. It works great

Doesn't stay active on AndroidColor OS no matter what. Hope developer can give admin rights to this app!!

Just installed app. Had problem with app executing rules. Emailed support, no response, so gave 2 stars. Not very reassuring.

Loved this app until last update. Now it no longer triggers any rules.

Some functions are missing like if i launch an app,should have option to turn on the Data function under the Action settings, but now its missing.

Disable lock screen doesn't work

So far, this app is pretty good and is a nice alternative to tasker. There are a wide range of triggers you can use for your rules and I like the UI. It's very pleasant to look at and use. Certain triggers being locked behind a paywall as well as community rules requiring points to download is also quite annoying and feels like a freemium cash grab but there are no ads so that's the reasoning behind it i suppose. However, I can't seem to get mobile data rules to work despite giving the app root access. The FAQ says it will work with root access but it doesn't. Other triggers seem to also be hit and miss when it comes to activation as well like the location trigger. Will update if things change. I might go to tasker despite the uglier UI and higher difficulty curve compared to automateit if I can't get some of the rules to work.

So I have a battery problem. Set up app to play ringtone when battery goes low. So, low battery triggers ring tone - super loud. So I look ever-y-w-here, can't turn off the loud warning. It runs 2 minutes. So I lower the volume. Whaaat? Very poor UI. Does everything, but I can't put in this much time learning it. Uninstalled...

Good app, the only thing I wish it had was a between time trigger. For example, I would like my phone to only turn volume back on if I leave work between 8am and 10pm. I get off of work at different times and don't want my volume going back on if I get off of work after 10pm, but I do want it on if I get off at 6pm.

UPDATE: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my Nexus 5X and now it seems to be working normally, so I adjusted my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. I use this app to control my ringer/notification volumes and screen brightness at scheduled times. Nothing too elaborate, but I really like being able to depend on this app controlling those settings so I don't have to adjust them all the time. EARLIER: This worked great with Nexus 5 for a couple of years. It stopped working once I switched to my new Nexus 5x a week ago. None of the rules run automatically, only when pushed. I am not a real technical person, but I can usually figure things like this out. I am very disappointed at not being able to get this app to work properly. I think I have all of the required permissions set up correctly. I will probably switch to another similar type app.

(2016-Jan) Takes about 24 hours after re-installing the app to a new phone for the app to re-unlock features it had on the old phone. Initially I could only import 9 out of my 58 rules. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2015-???) 5 stars -- Out of the box, it has quite a number of features. I like the ability to earn points to unlock items instead of paying outright for them. One downside: does not execute actions in order (try: set sound to low; speak text; set sound to high; speak text. Sound volume changes only once not twice.)

I will give it 5 stars of they fix the trigger that turns the phone back up to normal sound. When 7 a.m. is set for the trigger it makes a beep sound that wakes me up. I want my phone turned up at that time but if no one is calling I don't want it to make a noise. There is no way I can see to turn that beep off. Please fix.

It's a great app. I use it mostly for turning my gps and Bluetooth on and off when getting in and out of my van. It has many other features but you do need to be rooted for some to work. It seems to get confused about being in an app if I use androids pull down bar.

Uninstalled cause I was trying to free up space. After two days I'm back! I have 9 active triggers used almost daily. Does not drain battery.

You can't stop the service. It always restarts! Am I supposed to turn all my rules off just to shut it up?

It is very good, because makes life easier, but sometimes it doesn't trigger at right moment or right circumstance. Overall it is a very good app! I recommend it

Cannot update? Pressing accept does nothing, is it the playstore, or the app? I update other apps ok.

Trying it out, seems like their servers are down and they restrict a lot of functionality to registered users, so I can't do much with the app until they fix this.

This makes my phone do repetitive tasks that i dont have to think of.

I've been using it for a year now and life is so much easier for it! My phone switches to quiet mode at night and will only ring for a few emergency contacts, it will switch to vibrate mode when I walk into office (yes no need to do anything) and switches Bluetooth on when I'm in the car and all this using rules managed by this app (and this is only a few examples)! I've tried a number of apps and nothing comes close to this both in features and ease of use.
